The Pro LE’s handle has an improved design over that of the original Cosori Pro, which we tested in 2017. The old version had a plastic guard on the handle to cover the button that releases the inner basket from the outer one. It slid around and looked a bit cheap, and didn’t actually do much to protect you from accidentally releasing the bucket and sending it crashing to the floor. The Pro LE has a simple release button and a guard that’s less conspicuous.

If you were to fry nuggets in oil for example, you’d use a ton of oil to do that. I add zero oil, or just a little drizzle of olive oil to veggies or chicken. I’m kinda late to the air fryer craze, but while shopping for a new toaster oven I thought I’d give this one a try. It cuts down on the cooking time and I can’t believe how delicious everything turns out. The digital controls are intuitive to program and there’s a bright oven light, but I do have one major quibble. The manual doesn’t have any recommendations for what, how much, or how long to cook various foods.
The recipe makes six muffins and as such advises using a six cup muffin tin. But by this point I had all the ingredients out and my heart was set on blueberry muffins. So I mixed up the batter anyway and decided to split it cuisinart choppers between six paper muffin cases which I placed on the baking tray. The oven is definitely user-friendly, and the presets take the guesswork out for someone just starting to cook. I cooked 4.51 pounds of whole chicken, toasted six rounds of bagels or bread at one go, and made a 2-pound bag of French fries in no time. The dial gets hot during cooking, especially while air frying, so I had to be careful with it especially when using the oven for cooking multiple things one after the other.
This may not be a problem for baking or roasting, but if you’re new to air frying, you’re on your own for getting started. Although the Gourmia doesn’t look upscale, it sells for a great price for a product with the dual function of an air frying toaster oven. However, this model is wider than the majority of appliances on the market, meaning you can achieve a better spread of food items while cooking, for more crisp results. We found there was sufficient room for about two and a half portions of fries cooked to perfection; or three, if you’re willing to sacrifice some of the crispiness. Performance wise, the air fryer function doesn’t stack up against standalone air fryers. However, I was impressed with the bake and convection bake functions which are very speedy compared to my standard oven and do, I think, compensate for the air fryer performance.
But even if you decide to set the machine manually, you can still press the “shake” button to activate the reminder. The beeping is much louder on the Cosori Pro LE than on the Premium Airfryer, and you have no way to lower the volume or turn it off, so some people may find the sound annoying. That said, the beeping is loud enough to be heard from far away, which is handy if you’re in another room.
The Black+Decker 2L Purifry Air Fryer HF110SBD was the best budget pod-shaped model we tried back in 2017, but at the time it had the smallest max-fill capacity of all the fryers we tested. In most cases, we were able to successfully cook only about one serving of food at a time. For less money, we think the Instant Mini Vortex is a better single-serve option. Inside the Pro LE basket, there is a removable tray, which, during testing, fell out when we flipped the basket upside down to transfer food to a plate .
