America’s #1 Pipe Tobacco Captain Black Pouch White

Captain Black regular is the first tobacco that I can actually taste a little something nice. Tasting helps me a ton, as it has shown me to sip to get more flavor. I hope this may help another new person starting out. Sip it very very very slow to get the most of it. I have a soft spot for Captain Black. To be honest there’s really nothing special with it.

Certainly an all-day tobacco though, never wearing on my taste and forming the backbone of my rotation of favorites. Overall not a bad blend, though maybe not the best beginner one (it’s too harsh and doesn’t stay lit very well). It is quite strong too; an open pouch will easily dominate the surroundings. What you’re getting chacom tobacco pipes here certainly isn’t a complex tobacco. You have to re-light it alot, it doesn’t seem to want to stay lit for very long. T smell flowery of overpowering with any noticeable single ingredient type smell.

But be not fooled, for ye shall be plundered of dignity when ye smoke’th it. Yon Tobacco shalt be cast to the briny deep. No, this isn’t Pipeworks & Wilke’s Rumcake or #191, both of which I love.

The first bowl I had was average, and left me wishing I had some Navy Cavendish to make up for it. After that, I couldn’t stand having a full bowl the second time, and had to quit half way through. Since then, I left it in a corner as a potpourri that actually gives off a great vanilla scent to the room, but never had it again. Seriously, the vanilla is overpowering. Besides that, after those two bowl, when I got a good Virginia in it, my briar was already tainted with the vanilla! I had to have some other four full bowls to get it to a pleasant level.

I felt a bit nostalgic, so I’ve purchased a pouch. I’ve opened it, but I didn’t smoke it for about ten months. Today, I’ve found it in my cupboard and I decided to fill a bowl of this old friend. I prefer Cult aromatic blends when I want to taste both the tobacco and a pleasant chocolate/vanilla topping.
