Matte Lipsticks can be tricky because you need to find formulas that are not too drying. I find that matte lipsticks last longer than the traditional lipstick formulations. Last week I received the following shades from Revlon and I am seriously obsessed. We’ve re-defined the rules of matte lipstick with this lightweight, non-drying matte lipstick formula.
Out of all the reds in the Super Lustrous line, I feel like this red is the MOST blue based red (which I typically go for). The other ones in the line seem to be kind of bright and orangey. Even though I feel like it’s the more bluer red, it’s not the bluest shade of red I’m looking for. The day Revlon Super Lustrous comes out with a more blue based red (like MAC Russian Red), will be the day I stop using this one and use that one instead. The shade is goregeous, a light pink perfect for fair skin but it has some chunky glitter on it and feels like an exfoliation lipstick because the big glitter. The Luscious Mattes Lipstick has a comfortable light weight finish that is a true velvet matte lipstick.
But in my opinion, this color looks best when FULLY applied with a heavy hand. I think this color is a great color for “mixing” other shades with. This color could be considered a dupe for MAC’s Cyber or MAC’s Yung Rapunxel… This lipstick looks very glossy and shiny on the lips. Revlon brings you this very rich berry shade from its creme range. It’s a dark, pigmented plum-pink, and just one swipe gives you long-wearing color.
Obviously is sheer and shine because of the type of lipstick, so keep that in mind. This color is stunning, but it get into the fine lines of the lips. I absolutely love the cream formula of the Super Lustrous, but not on this color.
‘Kiss Me Coral’ is one of the most popular shades from this range. The coral instantly brightens up your face, and it looks precious on revlon lipstick fair to medium skin tones. Take a look at this video to learn more about the product. This deep plum shade is my personal favorite.
