Right now, we are living in what I would argue is the golden age of body hair. In fact, our own 2019 survey found that 62% of men do some sort of manscaping (and this survey focused only on below the belt ‘scaping so it’s probably more if you consider the total body). And, for the record, 62% of women said in that same survey that they prefer a man who does some form of hair control down below. I found none to very little difference in performance and how close the body groomers shaved.

Well, it does pretty much everything right and will get you covered regardless of what you’ll be doing with it. I think it’s too expensive, the replacement blade is pricy as well and it must be changed every 3 months.

The Mangroomer took last in our tests but had an okay runtime overall if you consider it’ll mostly be used on only one area. One of the first things we looked at with these units was blade sharpness. A common adjective in reviews of bad units is that they had “teeth” — and in feeling the design of each of these, it became quite obvious which ones did.
Even though the Multigroom 3000 comes with a small cleaning brush, and the attachments easily snap on and off, we found that a quick rinse got rid of hair clippings within seconds, no tools needed. We don’t like the bulkiness of the ER-GK60-S’s charging stand; it lacks a cord, so it just hovers in the outlet for all to see. Over three years of use, this trimmer doesn’t hold a charge for quite as long as it did when brand new, but it’s still long enough to complete the job. The quality design, two-year warranty and strong Philips reputation all help complete the picture for the Bodygroom. And if you’re not a Yoga teacher and have a problem with back hair, the Mangroomer is a good, if expensive, option to help assist with that.
All the above tips still apply, but I’ll share a few more specific recommendations that I consider to be key when trimming the groin area with an electric groomer. For example, if you need a beard + body trimmer, the Philips Multigroom 7000 is one of the best options out there. All the trimmers I’ve recommended are waterproof and can be easily cleaned with warm tap water. The V-shaped head, especially when used without a guard is very nimble and you can easily trim some hard-to-reach areas, like behind the knee joint or the crease between the leg and groin.
In addition, it’s completely waterproof, has a super quiet motor and 150 minutes of run time on a single charge, and the ergonomic design makes handling it around your curves and crevices easy. Not only do the stainless steel blades cut through even the coarsest hair, philips body groomer but the rounded, wraparound guards protect your junk from nicks and cuts. The integrated dial allows a whopping 20 different cutting lengths for a truly customized experience, plus it’s completely waterproof and has a 100 minute run time in a single charge.
The blades are really sharp and the motor is torquey and silent and this groomer mows through the hair regardless of how thick and dense it is. The Multigroom 7000 is by far the best push-style trimmer I’ve ever used. It also works reasonably well on the rest of the body when using the guard trimmer. Moreover, it vibrates a lot, especially when using the hybrid head (it has two motors, each one powering each of the shaving heads). First of all, they’re sturdy and glide very easily over the skin, even if it’s a bit damp. That said, you’ll mostly use a pulling motion as it’s far more effective and natural.
Unlike previous iterations, there’s no charging cradle included here, which would have been nice – especially at this price. This Philips 7000 Bodygroom is designed for 5 zone body grooming, including the back and shoulders, chest and abs, underarms, groin area and legs. As mentioned in the separate reviews for these groomers, they can trim well, but they take quite a long time to finish the job. The 5000 Series has a matte finish on the back section that offers better grip, and it has two silver sections that make it more attractive for some guys. The 3000 and 5000 Series are both grooming tools that aim to trim and shave any bodily hair from the neck down.
Both groomers use the same replacement cassettes that should be replaced every 12 months (approximately) and cost the same $15 (£15 – €15). The main difference in devices relates to the 5000 Series having a better battery. I had some fun testing out and using the Bodygroom 5000 Series and 3000 Series, and while they didn’t wow me, I found them to be useful, and they have some positives. Many other guys are extremely happy with the grooming results from them.
