Skullcandy Hesh Anc Wireless Headphones Headphones & Microphones Electronics

A female voice will let you know which mode you have just switched to. Pair the headphones as a new Tile device, and you are good to go. They’re reliable however, with quick and consistent pairing even when switching between devices. Even though they don’t have multi-point, the pairing process is quick enough to not be burdensome for use with more than one device.

Internally, 40mm drivers deliver a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, with 32-ohm impedance. The headphones are compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and support the SBC Bluetooth codec, but not AAC or AptX. Other useful features include the foldable design, protective case and 22 hours of battery life. The pair I have been testing out is the white version with sand coloured ear cushions.

There are a lot of decent ANC headsets out there, but this is worth considering if you don’t want to spend serious money. Last Nite by The Strokes has a pretty prominent bass line and loud kick drum, but there are skullcandy wireless no issues with bass frequencies masking mids or highs. The kick drum is enjoyably prominent, Julian Casablancas’ voice comes through among the bass line throughout, and the guitar part is still very audible.

Only in the high-frequency range does the effectiveness diminish somewhat so that a discreet whisper of a boiling kettle remains detectable. Pounding rain and the rumble of thunderstorms, on the other hand, are barely audible, while construction and street noise, as well as background voices, are clearly attenuated. The sound also seems slimmer as the bass content is reduced, and this lowers the playback volume somewhat. This sound change is not noticeable in Ambient Mode, which is impressive except for the background noise.

If you prefer a different sound, their companion app also has EQ presets to help tweak their sound. Their active noise cancelling feature significantly reduces ambient noise around you too and they have longer continuous battery life. The Skullcandy Hesh ANC Wireless are an upgraded variant of the Skullcandy Hesh 3 Wireless.

This only happened once — and so I don’t know if they picked up interference from something around me. How do they compare when listening to music, watching video, or just as noice cancelling headphones? One last hidden feature of the skullcandy wireless headphones is that it has the ability to be tracked by the Tile app.

An app with customizable EQ would welcome, though not necessarily expected at this price. The Hesh ANC headphones are available in black, gray, or white, with circumaural earcups generously padded with memory foam and a leather-like lining. The underside of the headband is also well-padded, and the headphones feel comfortable even over long listening sessions.

They’re lightweight, adjustable and definitely, considering their features, solidly affordable. The headband does expand, though, and the top of the band is slightly padded which gives you a better chance of them fitting well on your head. I never once felt they would fall off, they sat securely and snug and that’s great. The ears are padded skullcandy wireless as well, but that cushion is less dense than what I have on a more expensive pair of Skullcandy headphones. What that tells me is that the padding on the ears and on the headband are likely to pack down over time. There is also a Tile tracker inside the headphones, a feature Skullcandy has now offered on their audio devices for some time.
