Although the Eufy Solo IndoorCam C24 delivers vivid 2K images while you’re live viewing or recording to a microSD card, it downgrades clips stored on NAS devices and in the cloud to 1080p. Although this is the largest Wyze camera by size, it’s still quite compact—not much larger than a stick of butter. The original Wyze Cam Pan remains one of our favorite budget security cameras, even if the Wyze Cam v3 recently stole our hearts. Time will tell if the Wyze Cam Pan v2—and its color night vision—can live up to its predecessor.

Although a subscription isn’t totally necessary for the company’s cameras, it does offer extra utility. With that in mind, Wyze is opening up a new subscription tier to everyone. While you can actually score some handy things for under $20, you wouldn’t expect a home security camera to be one of them. The Wyze Cam V3 will make you reconsider your expectations because it boasts a surprisingly full feature list that includes color 1080p video, free cloud storage, and motion detection with custom zones.
Open the box and you’ll find the cube-shaped camera, power adapter, an outdoor-rated flat power cable that’s 6 feet long, a wall mount plate, screw kit, and mounting tape. The base can be screwed into a wall or ceiling, attached magnetically, or even fixed with tape. Wyze goes on to say that for someone to access your camera feed they would need access to your local network. So, you would have had to expose your local network to either a hacker directly or the internet at large for these vulnerabilities to be exploitable remotely. With a 1/2.7-inch sensor and f/2.5 aperture lens, the specs of the camera aren’t cutting-edge by any means.
The Wyze Cam Outdoor v2 is one of the cheapest outdoor security cameras with decent low-light performance and smart detection features. This battery-powered camera has basic weatherproofing and can be mounted anywhere you like since it runs on battery power. It also brings a few improvements, such as color night vision and a wider field of view.
This versatility will be handy if you change your mind about your camera’s location, or your needs change. You want an affordable but reliable camera (or cameras)
A two-pack of wireless outdoor cameras often costs upward of $300 for premium brands. Two Wyze Cams would cost a fifth of that, or you could cover multiple entrances and rooms for the same price. Plus, you won’t have to buy battery packs for each camera or upgrade your internet plan to better handle uploading 2K or 4K footage. The security camera’s standard features like person detection are locked behind a subscription. The Cam Outdoor v2, like most security cameras, has two-way audio, so you can tell the delivery person to simply leave your package at your door.
Fortunately, other features, such as motion zones and time lapses, are still available for free. The camera captures nighttime video at a much lower resolution (1080p at 10fps). But it’s nothing that ruins the image quality, and as long as there is little movement, the images are clear enough to see. The updated starlight CMOS sensor wyze security camera also supports color night vision and outperforms the previous model in low-light conditions. The front of the camera is where you’ll find the subtle difference between the Wyze Cam v3 Pro and the standard Wyze Cam v3. Instead of a white bezel, the entire front of the v3 Pro is black, save for the two spotlights just above the lens.
The sound detection will trigger if it detects a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm going off, which is a nice safety feature. The Wyze Cam V3 measures 2 x 2 wyze thermostat x 2.3 inches and weighs 3.5 ounces. A black square on the face contains the camera lens, sensors, microphone, and a tiny LED to show the camera status.
