Wyze Make Your Home Smarter Apps on Google Play

I definitely recommend this, otherwise you’re not going to be getting the most out of your camera. While I do appreciate the use of color night vision technology, I have to say the footage isn’t exactly clear. If you’re looking for the best night vision in the business, you might want to check out my review of Reolink’s cameras. Wyze’s professional monitoring fee is $10 per month, compared to Simplisafe’s $28-per-month and Ring’s $20-per-month base plans. The wyze home security is affordable, it works exceptionally well, and is very easy to setup and use.

It supports back-to-back event recordings (instead of one every five minutes). Other features include full-length video recording for as long as motion is detected, and package, vehicle and pet detection. The Wyze app is straightforward, with the default Home tab displaying your connected cameras or other Wyze devices. On the right, there’s an on/off button and you should see a frame from the last recorded video, which you can simply tap to jump into the live view for that camera.

This goes against Wyze’s End-of-Life Policy, which states it will provide “bug fixes, maintenance releases, workarounds or patches for critical bugs” for one year after it announces the product’s end-of-life date. In addition to making security wyze thermostat software, Bitdefender has a research arm that tests products for vulnerabilities. All internet-connected devices are vulnerable to hacking, including Wyze—and the company even had at least two major security breaches in December 2019.

Through the years, Wyze has proven its staying power in the security camera industry. That said, they’ve never strayed too far from their original goal of providing affordable, easily accessible security equipment that’s adaptable to nearly any use case. Wyze includes all its smart home features at no extra fee and charges only $2 per month per camera for comparable cloud storage.

It buffers the camera feed so that when motion is detected, it’s able to record a few moments prior to the event. That isn’t to say, though, that there aren’t some drawbacks and hiccups with the Wyze Cam v3 Pro. For starters, about a day into testing, I noticed that for every event the camera would capture, it would fail to upload the footage to the cloud, making playback impossible.
