2023 Coleman Camping Chairs Folding & Heavy Duty

There aren’t many other options out there with such a high carrying capacity, this many features, and low weight at any price range. As is the case with many mass-manufactured chairs, there tends to be some variance in quality over the years. I haven’t experienced any coleman cabin tent issues with mine despite pushing the weight limit and the cooler capacity up to the limit, but there is enough evidence floating around to question the integrity of the joints. “We use these every week for our kids’ games and practices,” wrote one five-star reviewer.

We noticed during the first of our three camping trips—a weekend in California’s Joshua Tree National Park, with a total of seven families—that, given the choice, campers prefer to take the biggest seat. When we set up a dozen chairs around the campfire without comment, people consistently claimed them from largest to smallest. The Coleman camping chair is big and durable, and of all the upright chairs that our panel of campers tested, it was the most comfortable. Dometic made a name for themselves in the vanlife and overlanding communities with their class-leading electric cooler collection, but their latest “Go” series takes aim at the upper end of the camping market.

This supportive seat is sure to hold up and remain comfortable with every use. Insurance agencies and law firms — show your clients your undying dedication using this versatile and practical fold up chair. It comes with a bag that has a shoulder strap to cart it around and weighs 8 pounds. The carry bag is rather thin, letting you feel whatever section of the chair rests upon your back or side. At least you probably won’t be carrying it terribly far, and it’s not awful over short stretches. It had some thickness, with at least a couple layers of fabric making up the body, but this doesn’t help the integrity.

Designed to ensure your comfort, the chair features an extra-wide 21.3-inch seat that offers plenty of room to lounge and adjustable arms that let you customize the chair to suit your preferences. The strong steel frame can support up to 250 pounds and withstands seasons of heavy use. And thanks to its collapsible design and convenient carrying bag, this folding chair is easy to store and transport. Comfort

The term “camp chair” encompasses just about any type of chair that can be folded up, squeezed into a car, and carried to your destination, so your first order of business is narrowing down your intended use. True “comfort” camping chairs—provided you have the space in your car—can be large and luxurious. They have taller backs, are farther off the ground, and offer the best support and stability.

As the name indicates, the chair locks in both the open and closed positions for stability and easy hauling inside the stuff sack. And the chair’s strong seat and slightly reclined back offer an excellent feel overall. The Kijaro’s 300-pound weight capacity falls well short of the burly King Kong above, but the chair still is made to last.

There’s nothing like spending an afternoon sitting outside and basking in the sun on a warm day, whether it’s on a beach, at a sports game, or even just in the backyard. Our not-too-discriminating underage testers liked all the kids’ chairs, though over time we found several reasons to declare the REI Camp Chair the best of the bunch. The REI chair’s polyester seat material feels both more forgiving and more durable than the thinner material on the Ozark Trail Kids’ Folding Camp Chair from Walmart. The box-shaped cupholder is a little roomier than the round cupholders on the Coleman and the L.L.Bean Base Camp chairs—better for stubby water bottles or mugs of hot chocolate around the campfire.

It’s definitely one of the more comprehensively comfortable models that we tried out. If the arms were a little longer and a little higher, it would be perfect- but by no means is this a deal-breaking oversight. The strap that supports the back (and doubles as a carry strap) allows adjustments to control your angle of recline, from upright to a stargazing-appropriate angle.
