michelin truck tiresI can praise Michelin for making a grand touring tire that handles this good, but that comes at the cost of refinement. The comfort levels are acceptable, as long as you are aware that you will feel vibrations and jolts over uneven surfaces. It can absorb some of the bumps, but it’s not the most comfortable one in class. Your vehicle will remain stable, even if you get near the traction limit, and it will be very easy to control. According to our wet road test, the CrossClimate 2 is the best all-season tire in rainy conditions, beating the competition in every metric. Furthermore, the stopping distances are the shortest of any all-season tire out there, again knocking on the doors of the summer touring category. The tire also performs very well at the limit and doesn’t lose grip immediately like some cheaper tires.

On the bright side, the CrossClimate 2 is designed with Michelin’s Total Performance technology. There are minimal differences between the CrossClimate and CrossClimate+ versions of the tyre. I would imagine the current lack of + version would indicate it’s a low volume size and the moulds have yet to be updated. If you look at the 2017 all season tyre test the CrossClimate has a lower fuel use than the summer tyre included in the test. The CrossClimate is ranked 18th of 55 All Season Premium Touring tyres.
