Coleman Sundome 4Person Dark Room Tent 2000032253

The E-port makes it easy to bring your electronics with you by allowing space for an extension cord to enter the tent. You can also improve the durability of your tent floor by laying a tarp or a tent footprint before pitching to offer added protection. Some users also found issues with the protective polyethylene (PE) flooring being damaged within a few uses. This was not an issue we found was consistent across online reviews.

If you’ve never been camping before but want to give it a go, looking for your first tent can be intimidating. Finding a low-cost, reliable tent with a simple design can be a challenge for newbie campers. We’ll email you once we’ve issued a store credit or a refund – typically within business days after we receive your package. After Gear.com issues a refund, it may take up to 3 additional weeks for your bank to refund your payment. Thank you for your patience as we process returns as quickly as possible.

Having tested a number of six-person tents of late, we’re happy to report that the Coleman Sundome 6 was among the easiest to set up and take down. The two simple and identical poles were quick and painless to put together, and the lack of color coding between them and the tent body minimized any type of confusion or missteps along the way. Further aiding to the straightforward set up was the relatively small rainfly, which was easy to toss over the tent. Even assembling the Sundome 6 solo was a smooth process, which took less than 10 minutes from start to finish at a leisurely pace. And while Coleman attaches the instructions to the inside of the storage bag, we still think it’s a good idea to do a dry run in your backyard before heading out on a trip.

A few features on the tent had somewhat questionable build quality, such as plastic clips and less than elegant zippers. The Coleman® 4-Person Sundome® Dark Room™ Dome Camping Tent blocks 90% of sunlight (vs. a comparable Coleman tent) so you can put the kids to bed early or sleep in past sunrise. It also reduces heat inside the tent for more comfortable rest at any time. With a double-wall design and generous use of mesh on two sides and the ceiling, the Coleman Sundome 6 offers very good ventilation. Adding to the breezy feel is its partial rainfly, which when guyed out allows for a significant amount of airflow on warm summer nights.

Their products are generally reliable and usable by anyone. But most users who had used one found that fitting anyone else in the tent – even without an air mattress of their own – was very tight. You shouldn’t expect this tent to last forever – after all, it’s a low-cost option.

You can push the poles through the sleeves when doing both, it just adds time. The metal tips clipped to each corner were easy to insert into the base of the tent poles. The storage bags for the poles, stakes, and tent are all great. I like the make of the storage bag, it is zippered instead of being made like a stuff sack with a draw string. With the zipper open it is easy to fit the tent, poles and stakes back inside. This is a decent 3-season tent, it’s not great, but it’s not bad either.

If you think you’ll experience rain on your camping adventures, you get what you pay for here and it’s probably best to look elsewhere. The coleman screen tent 4, 9’x7′, dome tent is part of the classic Sundome series of tents from Coleman. The Sundome 4 sleeps 4 happy campers and includes a large door for easy entry/exit with a hooded fly to provide ventilation even in rain. A large rear hooded window also provides airflow for cross ventilation. The 6-Person Sundome® Dome Camping Tent has large windows and a ground vent to help push heat up and out to keep you comfortable when camping in warm weather.

However, we did find a couple of things that piqued our interest. One thing we also found particularly interesting about this tent is the number of versions available. First off, the price on the 2 is hard to beat.
