You will also need another person to help out with the setting up. Maybe gimmick is too strong a word for Coleman’s instant tent. Price wise it just does not stand up to other Coleman tents. Many other Coleman Tents are available that are larger in size and of the same or better quality for less money. “They do however take an extra 10 minutes to setup and breakdown” price is a big thumbs down to save a few minutes a couple of times a year.
Sometimes, one of the elbow joints of the poles would jam and won’t prop up properly, and I’d have to fold it back up and try to prop it back up again. There are no ground vents in this Coleman 10-Person Tent, so there’s hardly any ventilation when it’s raining, except through the gap between the roof and the rainfly. And if you’re the type that doesn’t like a single spot of light when you’re sleeping at night, well, you’re in luck.
Setting up this tent is easy – simply lay the tent down, spread the fabric out, extend the poles until they lock into place, then throw the fly over, peg it out – and you’re ready to go! The interior has silicone flexible strip LED lighting, which gives you convenient illumination at the flick of a switch. The front features a vestibule which helps add to your living space, and you can also pitch out the two-pole awning for extra shade. But when it’s raining, the rainfly provides very little rain protection, because it’s quite small (and its main purpose is to protect only the ceiling mesh).
All you have to do is lay out the entire tent bring up the roof, extend the poles and you are done. The built-in rainfly is an interesting add-on as you don’t have to spend extra time pulling a separate rainfly over to cover the tent. Overall, I felt that this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent was perfect for summer use, with the awesome dark room feature and plenty of ventilation.

All in all, there are many great points in its design but there are also downsides, so choose carefully. The windows are a truly great feature, but they are the places where you might expect water passing through the vertical zippers sections.
