Coleman Cooler Quad Chair Blue 2000035685

The mesh back allows the breeze to cool you on hot days while you enjoy a refreshing drink from the convenient mesh cup holder. The strong steel frame will make sure you’ll always have a great seat, season after relaxing season. The Trailhead is also on the heavier side for a camp chair, and it’s far from compact. However, if you’re setting up camp for an extended stay, having home-furniture level comfort — and a whooping 500-pound weight capacity — could be worth the extra effort in transport.

I found that the hardest part about using the chair was deciding how I wanted to stock the cooler. For all of the features and the size of the Cooler Quad, setting it up is just as easy as any other basic camp chair. There are no moving parts, footrests to avoid, or sunshades to deploy. The only thing between you and an afternoon of grilling is getting it out of the sleeve. The cooler itself is an easy-access zippered pouch that hangs from the bottom of the left armrest. The Renetto chair usually comes in between 8 and 10 colors and is rated to hold up to 350 pounds.

The sturdy steel frame supports padded armrests, a back with a breathable mesh panel, and a cup holder for added comfort. Take kid-sized comfort with you to the campsite, BBQ, or picnic with a Coleman® Kids Quad Chair. Relaxing so much can make your kid thirsty, but with the mesh cup holder, they can keep a drink close at hand. A low seat helps resist tipping, and the frame locks to help prevent any accidental folding.

The poles are quite thin, and despite having a steel frame, everything feels rather rickety. Ours also came with some sloppy seams, and the carry bag is very thin and fragile. Again, nothing broke on this chair during our few months of testing, but we are skeptical of its longevity.

The mesh cup holder has a soft plastic grommet stitched into the armrest fabric, reinforcing the mesh and helping the cup holder retain its shape so you have effortless access to your beverage of choice. By making a simple folding camp chair well- Coleman’s Cooler Quad has made the rankings as one of our favorites. It’s definitely one of the more comprehensively comfortable models that we tried out. If the arms were a little longer and a little higher, it would be perfect- but by no means is this a deal-breaking oversight. Artful employment of padding along the seat makes the Cooler Quad a little more than just an oversized camp chair. Just a thin layer of foam that adds something to the polyester does the job without making it feel like you’re sitting in a pile of mashed potatoes.

The frame is a painted steel and it includes two unique hubs with integrated cup holders. The chair is a part of Coleman Mantis collection with several pieces built in the same style. In view of its capacity, this is a lightweight chair, it weighs only  9.9 lb (4.5 kg). The packed dimensions when stored into its included carry bag are 38.2 x 7.9 x 7.1 inches (97 x 20 x 18 cm). The chair is lightly padded, and you also have soft armrests, a bonus cup holder, a storage pouch, and a cell phone sleeve.

The Yeti Trailhead Camp Chair is a rock-solid piece of outdoor furniture that’ll stay sturdy and supportive even under the toughest conditions. Yeti’s Flexgrid fabric is taut and durable with just the right amount of stretch to conform to your body and provide pressure relief where it’s most needed. We found it to be extremely supportive on the back and legs and marveled at how difficult it was to knock over during the durability test. The material is also resistant to damage from UV rays and breathable enough to prevent spills or rain from pooling in the seatbed. We have no doubt the aluminum frame and UV-resistant polyester seat are designed to last through years upon years of outdoor seasons.

Despite the Renetto’s weight, our testers found it easy to carry and simple to set up and adjust. We discovered that even though most testers had not previously considered a shade-equipped camp chair, once they used one they appreciated the comfort and convenience of built-in sun blocking. It had some thickness, with at least a couple layers of fabric making up the body, but this doesn’t help the integrity. The armrests are technically adjustable, though they are only attached through round discs, making it easy to accidentally push them down with your elbow during a routine readjustment. Coleman advertises this chair as having a headrest, which we think is a bit of a stretch.

If you notice some mildew on your chair or happened to enjoy a particularly muddy weekend, cleaning off your camp chair is a relatively straightforward process. This also did a great job staying dry when the sun came out, and I started to sweat. It never managed to soak through, though I doubt that would be the case in any kind of rain. Beyond this, it’s a cheap and cheerful camp chair that will give you everything you need and a little more, inarguably a bargain deal anyone shopping around should consider. “This is the Platonic ideal of your camp chair,” one of our campers gushed. Select a chair with a built-in canopy, which will give you a little patch of cool at any campsite or cookout.

If your chair has pole legs, just make sure that you bring along a ground sheet if you may be encountering soft surfaces like sand. Since the breathable mesh is also quick-drying, you can feel free to coleman pop up canopy plop down in a wet bathing suit and leave the chair out during afternoon rain showers. And although its thinness may cause you concern, it has proved to be durably and sturdy after months of use.
