I have one of the best mountain bikes ever built and it’s only been on trails two times. The other “downside” is its range, though, I’ve never run out of power while riding. I pedal a lot without the power, using it on uphills only. With two, 40 miles would be easy even if using mostly with the power on with hardly any pedaling.

By the late 1970s, a new bicycle sport begun by enthusiasts in Northern California had grown into a new type of all-terrain bicycle, the mountain bike. Mountain bikes were originally based on Schwinn balloon-tired cruiser bicycles fitted with derailleur gears and called “Klunkers”. A few participants began designing and building small numbers of mountain bikes with frames made out of modern butted chrome-molybdenum alloy steel.

I ordered a 500w and maybe that only explains the motor output but, I received a 450w 12.5 v battery. I wonder if you have a 500w motor wouldn’t you schwinn ebike need a 500w battery? I find also for the first month I had it and I mostly use the peddle assist and only use the throttle when crossing streets.
