I bought this tent on clearance at WalMart a few years ago. It doesn’t leak, it has held up in severe storms, and it takes all of 3 minutes to set it up, and another 5 to put the rain fly on. I have had MANY tents (3 stay at home while I use this one), and the Ozark First-up is a definite keeper! In the beginning, the spring-loaded mechanism is very tight… Might need some help the first couple of uses to get the mechanism pulled down into place.
Overall, we think the Ozark Trail canopy serves its intended purpose – a value brand 10×10 instant shelter that caters to price conscious consumers looking for an affordable shade option. And compared to some of the tents in the EZ-Up lineup, it sells for almost a 70% discount. One could, in theory, purchase a new Ozark canopy every year (which they might need to!) and still come out ahead over the years vs. purchasing a more expensive alternative. The frame is sturdy and can be customized to your preferred height. For those extra scorching hot days, the peak roof vent creates additional ventilation.
My only complaint is when I need to get in to the bag, but not is a big problem. I have fellow campers that would love to buy one, but for some reason I can’t find one anywhere. I would like to buy another one for myself as a back up. This is my third season of using it and it’s getting to be on its last leg.
I tried to find this part to buy and couldn’t locate it, so I made it, right here in my own house and that is the best thing about 3d printing. The speed does not create the prettiest quality on my printer but its still solid and no layer separation. I debated about returning the canopy and ordering a new one but then I thought that this would be a great use of the 3d printer. To our dismay when we fist set it up two of the truss support brackets broke. They are just made out of cheap aluminum and it appears they break very easy.
It sticks to the classics, with a very traditional design that works. There may not be many bells and whistles, but we don’t think it’s necessary here. We think this is the biggest standout in relation to how different this model is to others on the market.
One person can use the Simple Push handle to extend the canopy so it is ready for use. Perfect for tailgating, ball games, backyard barbecues ozark trail canopy and more. Will not let anyone borrow it because I cannot find one to replace it. She fell in love with the way it goes up and folds down.
