Out of all the different groomers I’ve tried, even the ones specifically designed for shaving the genitals, Philips’ hybrid head was the most effective and the most comfortable. Other things that are really important when choosing a body trimmer are the availability and price of the replacement blades/heads. And while a foil element can only deal with short hair, the two rows of blades allow you to use it on longer body hair as well. This prevents nicks while allowing the blades to cut the hairs very close to the skin. Like the best of its genre, Fur’s compact anywhere-trimmer is cordless and water-resistant, but it also comes equipped with a handy LED spotlight to light up any furry pathways. This brand has bet everything on groin care, and this hedge-trimmer upholds that reputation. Although slightly more expensive philips body groomer than the field, the Bodygroom makes up for it by being significantly better in terms of versatility, battery life, and safety. Likely using a similar battery technology, Philips’ Multigroom also performed solidly, but as we noted, that’s a unit that best fits your face, not your body.
If you don’t want to invest in a separate trimmer for your body, you’ve got options too. If you’re church-and-state about all your trimmers, then you probably demand a dedicated groin-grooming tool. Meridian’s is our favorite for its rust-resistant ceramic blades, which are replaceable after you’ve mowed the lawn for a couple years. Its tooth guard keeps a safe distance between your delicate skin and its fast and furious clip. I’ve had mine for a few years now, and it’s going strong all this time later, with exactly 0 nicks and cuts in its name.

The Philips Bikini Perfect was the least-effective model of all those we tested—and it was by far the loudest.
