After researching many different models, I decided upon the Ozark Trail Sun Shade. Overall, this tent is not worth it if rain is involved. It would be good for summer camping in the sun shade mode, or backyard camping for the kids, but I don’t know if I would risk it for backpacking. It is not very heavy, and not poorly constructed, but it just isn’t sturdy or waterproof. Spend a little more money and get a better tent. The Ozark Trail instant sun shade was incredibly easy to put up and even easier to take down.
The included carrying bag does not have wheels to aid in transportation, but at only 29 lbs. We don’t find that to be a noteworthy drawback as the nylon handles and shoulder strap work just fine in carrying the tent. The Ozark Trail canopy very well might be one of the best selling 10×10 tent brands of all time. The easily recognizable logo has been seen by nearly everyone at youth soccer tournaments or beach vacations in recent years. One thing we love about Ozark Trail canopy tents are the accessories that can be added to the shelters.
I’ve had great luck with the Ozark chairs, sleeping pads, and other basic camping items. These products are overpriced at name brand stores like REI. You are buying the idea of being some cool, unique, outdoor person. The type of guy that would list hiking as a hobby on his dating profile.
The Ozark Tail sun shade comes with side curtains to cover the mesh on the side. I did not have these mounted in the photos posted with this article. The side curtains would function nicely for a windy beach setting. The product also comes with a tarp that can be put along the ground. This would be great for anyone that plans to sit down in the shelter. I need a break from the Pacific NW clouds and rain sometimes.

One could, in theory, purchase a new Ozark canopy every year (which they might need to!) and still come out ahead over the years vs. purchasing a more expensive alternative.
