Ozark Trail 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Integrated LED Lights, 3 Rooms, 47 87 lbs

The set-up was understandably a few steps shorter, which is always nice when setting up in the dark. More than once in the dark I’ve attached a rain fly ozark trail chair upside down and we had to restart that particular step. This tent was close to foolproof when it came to the rain fly because it was already connected.

Not only is it the perfect tent, but it includes the 4-person dome tent, 2 sleeping bags, 2 pillows, 2 foam sleeping pads, 2 chairs, 2 dry bags, 1 lantern and 1 carry-all bag. In all kinds of weather, from high winds to torrential downpours. No leaks, no tears and only 1 pole ozark trail tent malfunction that probably had to do with me setting it up quickly in the rain. Even then it was just a matter of stretching the pole back out more carefully. Maybe I got a fluke that is a bit better made than the rest but I’ll keep using this until it’s completely trashed.

If you should need to access anything during the night and aren’t next to your pocket, you’ll be reaching across quite a few bodies. Below we’ll take a closer look at Ozark Trail Teepee- its faults, features, and what you can do to get the most out of it. To see how it stacks up to other tents with similar style and function, check out our best teepee tents page. Pull them down to the base corners of the tent and attach them to the pin rings. Bend each pole into an arch and secure it at the corners of the tent at ground level by placing the tent pole into the pin ring.

As far as fairweather shelters go, however, this one may be the best value in terms of livability for your money. Having a separate rain fly for a 2- or 3- person tent makes sense because multiple people can split up the weight a little easier on longer hikes. With a 1-person tent, that doesn’t really make as much sense. After all, I was carrying the whole thing and so it might as well be connected.

And out of my 14 Coleman tents, only 1 of my Coleman tents (the Montana 8P) came with this weird inconsistent mesh. My Coleman tents at least had a zip down the middle of the divider. For the inside of the tent, when I was setting up my Ozark Trail room divider, I realized that the divider doesn’t even have a zip down the middle, for access into the other room. In contrast, my Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent has only 1 door at the front of the tent. And Ozark Trail doesn’t have the super cool hinged door feature that Coleman has. In fact, one of these doors is even a hinged D-door, which makes going in and out of the tent that much easier.

With a bachelor’s degree in communication and political science, Leslie has over 12 years of experience in the deal industry as a content writer and editor. Also, my steel wall poles were showing signs of rust even though I did my best to dry them before packing. As for my Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent, it was able to stay dry only for about 10 minutes of mostly light rain and some moderate rainfall, not even heavy ozark trail chair rain. After my rain test, I found that my Coleman Instant Tents, I have both the 10-Person and 4-Person versions, were able to stay dry for about 10 minutes under heavy rain. This allows you to have great water resistance right out the door without having to seal the seams yourself. But, sometimes you want privacy, and this tent offers great room options. The main room has a divider down the middle, and then there’s the pop-out room on the backside. This pop-out room is great to use as a kid’s play area, a gear storage “garage,” or just an adults-only sleeping room. With the large welcoming door you enter a huge 14′ x 10′ tent giving you 140 sq ft of living space.
