Coleman 4-Person Cabin with Instant Setup Review Tested by GearLab

With 56 square feet, the inside is big enough for a queen air mattress or two twins. Headroom is limited to 4’ 11’’, but this is a fairly small, cheap tent that’s expected. When folded and stowed in its bag, the tent is fairly small, making it easy to store. Coleman advertises the setup as being a less than 60-second process. While it may take you more than a minute the first time, we found that setup time to be right on target.

It’s unlikely to be as durable, though, as the softer, stronger polyester found in our other picks. Great for backyard overnights, this simple dome-style tent is for anyone who doesn’t want to spend more than $150 on a tent but also doesn’t want to buy another one next year. With nearly 60 square feet of floor space plus two large vestibules, the Tungsten 4 is roomier than our top-pick tent for couples.

The tent doors are nearly wall-sized, and after you unzip them, you simply stuff them into pockets, rather than having to roll and toggle-tie the fabric. Another two hanging pockets plus loops for a ceiling hammock provide simple yet effective interior storage. The floors and canopy on the Coleman Instant Tent 6 are made up of a rugged 150D polyester, which is noticeably thicker than many of the tents in our review and should hold up to a great deal of punishment. The aluminum poles are also quite durable; the leg poles are 16mm thick, while the roof poles are 12mm thick.

However, I wouldn’t say that Coleman has the best instant tent mechanism, at least for this tent. Sometimes, one of the elbow joints of the poles would jam and won’t prop up properly, and I’d have to fold it back up and try to prop it back up again. Also, I noticed a pretty big pool of water from the zipper of the hinged D-door at about 30 minutes of light rain (so maybe it started leaking at around 15 minutes coleman pop up canopy in). There are no ground vents in this Coleman 10-Person Tent, so there’s hardly any ventilation when it’s raining, except through the gap between the roof and the rainfly. Each “room” can then fit either 5 sleeping pads or sleeping bags, or 2 queen-sized beds. One room, on the left side of the tent, will have 3 windows and the hinged D-door, while the other room will have 2 windows and the other door.

This large and weatherproof tent has made our outdoor adventures so much more enjoyable. The room divider is a fantastic feature, providing some privacy and separation between sleeping quarters. What truly coleman pop up canopy impressed me is its ability to withstand the weather elements. The strong frame can handle winds up to 35 MPH without a hitch, ensuring we stay safe and comfortable even during bad weather conditions.

You could give this tent a knock for its weight, coming in at 18.2 lbs, and a ding for the bag size — packing this one back up did take a little extra smushing, but it wasn’t too bad. How does this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent compare to other similar tents though? Well, here’s a blog post where I bought, tested and compared 6 of the best 10-person tents. After about 3 hours of light rain, all the fabric of the main tent body (both the blue and black fabric) was still dry, which was great. If I were being nitpicky, I would say that there’s a little bit of light seeping in through the gap between the roof and the rainfly, and also from the bathtub flooring at the bottom of the tent.

Easthills Instant Shader Deluxe XL is likely one of the biggest beach tent you can find. Get 99″ W x 53″ D x 57″ H plus a 53″ front porch of generous space for up to four adults and children or pets. It’s a perfect beach tent to shield your whole family from harmful rays. Wide enough to fit in up to four regular beach coleman cabin tent chairs and plenty of head room for tall guests. Telescoping steel poles come pre-assembled for a quick setup in just a few short steps. Fall scenery is nearing its peak across the U.S., and one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the season’s kaleidoscopic views is to camp right under the arboreal canopy.

Weight and packed size for the Instant Tent 6 are 24.9lb and 48”x9”x9”, so it’s certainly a hefty tent that will take up a decent amount of space in your trunk. However, it’s very easy to unpack and pack away with respect to its travel bag, which we consider much more valuable. In the setup category, the Coleman Instant Tent 6 is a true standout amongst our 2021 review, and we were quite impressed with what it could do. I was super careful to read the instructions thoroughly and put on the rain-fly correctly, and had all guy-lines in place and taught as possible. Rain still seeped though ALL four walls of the tent (see pictures) and made puddles on the floor, getting our sleeping bags and other gear wet throughout the night. Overall, I felt that this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent was perfect for summer use, with the awesome dark room feature and plenty of ventilation.
