Gazelle’s new Makki family cargo bike puts child comfort and safety first, according to the Dutch bike maker. Add in a bundle of accessories and it all means ‘you can dare to replace your second car with a Makki’ according to Gazelle. There is comfortable looking bench seating, storage drawer and a rain hood.

They cost less to produce, and they are basically bulletproof in terms of user error. Walmart has long offered an interesting array of low-cost electric bicycles. Some of the bikes have even dipped down into ultra-budget territory with prices below $400. It can be a good option for those that want kent electric bike the utility of an electric bicycle but don’t have a lot of spare cash. But while Walmart is known for its super cheap e-bikes, the company has never offered higher-end e-bikes with nicer features like mid-drive motors. At least, not until now with the launch of Kent’s new mid-drive electric bike.

Cheaper mid-drive electric bikes tend to opt for Chinese-made mid-drive motors like those from Bafang, Truckrun, Tongsheng, and others. In the case of Kent’s mid-drive electric bike, seen above, it’s not clear exactly which 250W motor is used. Nicer (i.e., more expensive) kent electric bike e-bikes tend to use fancier mid-drive motors like those made by Brose, Bosch, Yamaha, and other major German or Japanese manufacturers. Kent’s Electric Cruiser has plenty of limitations, but it’s doubtful the people buying this bike will care too much.

The Panasonic drive systems offer some promising specs for e-bike enthusiasts. Its top-of-the-line GX0 system, used on both Van Dessel models, weighs 2.95 kilograms (6 pounds, 8 ounces) and generates 90 nM of torque. He said the Univega models have the potential to sell up to 10,000 units, and the Van Dessel models up to 3,000 units in the U.S. and 20,000 worldwide. Kent eventually plans to sell a complete line of “deluxe e-bikes” under the Van Dessel brand in the U.S. and Europe. Kent’s specialty brands, Van Dessel and Univega, this spring will launch the company’s first e-bike models incorporating new Panasonic mid-drive systems. The e-bikes will be assembled in Kent’s South Carolina factory and sold in North America and Europe.

Our electric bikes are comfortable, reliable and have a large battery range. If you have never used an electric bike before, you use it exactly the same way as a pedal bike. The difference is that when you pedal, the motor kicks in to assist you, great for any hills. Alternatively you can switch the motor off and ride it like a conventional bike. The rest of Kent’s mid-drive e-bike fits more in line with the other budget models in its class.
