Weber Grills Traveler Portable Propane Gas Grill Stealth 9013001

We conducted two sets of tests for scoring, depending on whether the grill was gas-fueled or charcoal. The first step for each was to assemble the grill, rating it on the clarity weber portable grill of instructions and how easy it was to accomplish the task. Next, we judged the grills’ portability, such as how easy they were to move and if lids or grates fell off easily.

While UPS and FedEx are our carriers for smaller items, be aware that larger items and orders are shipped via freight. The freight process is a bit more complicated than what we’ve all come to expect for small parcels, so it’s important that you’re prepared and understand what’s required of you well before delivery day. If you enjoy doing anything in the great outdoors and have always wanted to bring delicious food to the table (pun intended) then the Weber Traveler is a no-brainer. Whether it’s at the lake, the park, the game or even at home, this is an enjoyable and functional gas grill that anyone can use. Judging by the char, the surfaces were the hottest just outside of the solid ring on the grates that is meant to protect grease from spilling onto the burners. The very inner and outer parts of the surface were the cooler zones.

It is easy to assemble, heats up quickly, cooks up to 4 burgers or steaks just like the Genesis. Love how it takes up little room on the patio and is so easy to clean. I highly recommend cooking cheeseburgers on this grill by the way. Since the grates have areas that are solid, excess cheese can sit on there and form a delicious crust as it melts, giving flat iron and charred flavors at the same time.

That, along with the U-shaped burner, provided the most consistent grilling of all the portables we tested, with the fewest hot spots. But portable grills are generally not as versatile as a full-size grill. Our picks fit about half as much food as their full-size counterparts (six burgers versus 12) and aren’t ideal for large cuts of meat that require slow or indirect cooking, such as roasts or pork shoulder. If you have the space, you’ll probably be happier with one of our full-size gas or charcoal picks.

The Weber Q series grills are the most expensive portables we’ve tested. But the price is justified by the grill’s build-quality and Weber’s warranty and overall reputation for longevity. While the high heat setting perfectly seared burgers without burning, the Q 1200 also outperformed the competition at steady medium-low heat for items such as bone-in chicken and sausage links. The Weber Q 1200 is flare-up resistant and excellent at maintaining consistent heat. It’s constructed from quality materials, has some nice extra features, and is reasonably comfortable to carry (although heavy). This larger version of our pick offers more cooking area and higher heat output.

Weber covers more parts on its gas grills for five years and nothing for less than two years, but those grills also cost significantly more. In our tests, the Grill2Go X200 produced intense heat that was ideal for searing steaks but had us battling some flare-ups when cooking chicken pieces. Although we wouldn’t want to use it as a primary patio grill, it’s a decent dedicated portable grill for camping and tailgating.

I’ll run through some of the main features of this grill, before listing what I liked and what I didn’t like, and then get into the nitty-gritty of what it was like cooking on this grill. It’s also big enough that you can enjoy cooking with it at home. In this review, I’ll run through my experience cooking on the Weber Traveller, both at home and on the road. And if you want to check out a video review we did I’ve included that below. Since then they have continued to expand their indoor showroom and outdoor patio.

The Weber Q 1200 Gas Grill is the best of the portable propane models we’ve tested. It outperformed the competition at both high-heat searing and low-and-slow grilling, with the fewest flare-ups. And it’s well-built, with a push-button ignition and temperature control dial that are easy to use. We’ve tested an older version of the Lodge Sportsman’s Pro Cast Iron Grill, a hibachi-style grill that generates an intense amount of heat and excels at searing, making it ideal for steaks. But the lidless design limits its ability to tackle slow-cooking tasks. At 30 pounds and with a long cool-down time (again, cast iron), it’s also not going to be very portable.

I have owned this Bar B Q about a month, and it works perfectly. Easy to light, heats up quickly, and folds down to a ver small foot print. Only thing I have found is that the grills are not easy to clean, but otherwise fits our needs for a smaller, efficient Bar B Q.

It would have allowed me to keep the food warm while the turkey burgers cooked at a higher temp. While an extra burner would make this grill a little more versatile, I think most people that buy this are looking to keep it simple. If you want to grill steaks, burgers, chicken and hot dogs having one single burner won’t be a problem. As I spent 6 weeks testing and cooking on the grill, I was impressed by the thoughtful design of the grill. Every feature has been added to enhance your entire experience, from transport to grilling.
