Make sure to wrap the bladder if you prefer cold water. I wrap my bladder with a small bath towel (or you could get an insulated water bladder pouch for it) to keep it cool and my gear dry. I carried this daypack back n forth on a trail to the shower while camping. The bag stayed in place on my back using the sternum strap. With the added height of an inflatable pillow and sleeping pad my head height was indeed close to the curvature of the tent ceiling but there was still enough room. I did have a few inches along the edge for some clothes, a water bottle, and a headlamp, but that could have been made wider with a narrower sleeping pad. I was a little concerned with how the straps would distribute weight. Prior to taking it out on the trail, I did give it two coats of silicone spray so that it would shed water. Packing-wise, I chose to line it with a garbage disposal liner. This includes a pullout couch in the living area, a sink and microwave in the dining area, a set of four plates, silverware and glasses. There are large windows and glass doors that open onto small porches or decks, most with a scenic wooded view.
