Also, I noticed a pretty big pool of water from the zipper of the hinged D-door at about 30 minutes of light rain (so maybe it started leaking at around 15 minutes in). Coleman WeatherTEC System Tents are guaranteed to keep you dry. Durable waterproof floor features welded corners and floor seams with no needle holes to prevent leaks and an inverted tub floor seam keeps water from seeping in.

The Coleman 4-Person Cabin Tent with Instant Setup is a one-trick pony. But it does that one trick of assembling quickly very, very well. There are some cheap touches, especially in the construction quality, but this is a cheap tent. While this isn’t a tent you would want take out in inclement weather, it’s a perfect option for backyard camping or shorter camping trips in decent weather. When folded and stowed in its bag, the tent is fairly small, making it easy to store. Coleman advertises the setup as being a less than 60-second process.

It’s a small point, but also worth noting that the guy lines are woven with reflective material, so they’ll pop out at you when you hit them with a flashlight in the dark. Anyone who has spent much time outside has kicked through a stake or guy line in the night. The Coleman’s lightning-fast setup time is really its only party piece. Besides this, it’s very much a bare-bones tent at an attractive price point. After about 3 hours of light rain, all the fabric of the main tent body (both the blue and black fabric) was still dry, which was great.

We recently had an opportunity to use the Coleman 8 Person Instant Tent on one of our camping trips in British Columbia. Coleman claims that the tent can be set up in one minute, hence the ‘Instant Tent’ name. The large floor coleman cooler space (320cm L x 260cm W) comfortably fit our queen size mattress, three pieces of luggage and a baby travel cot. And, without the travel cot we fit two camping chairs and a small camping table or a playmat inside.

The only variable factor in set-up time is how fast you feel like walking around the tent unfolding the poles and pulling them to their full length. But wait, they must have made the rest of it waterproof to compensate, right? Coleman’s patented and much ballyhooed WeatherTec technology only uses a weather-resistant, coated polyester fabric. This means that any part of the tent not covered by the rain fly will get wet and leak in moderate to heavy or consistent rain. 14′ x 8′ tent sleeps eight people comfortably – fits two queen airbeds

Fully taped tent requires no separate rain fly.

Although it’s less than ideal to add a 20% upcharge to unlock this feature, it’s still much easier on your wallet than the majority of the tents in our review. However, this rainfly really only serves to add extra protection to the roof; it does not extend out far enough to provide sufficient protection for the doors and windows. Easy to set up and break down, the Coleman Instant 6-Person Cabin Tent with Rainfly allows for efficient time use on your camping trip.

COLEMAN 7X7 ILLUMILINE INSTANT TENT has pre-attached poles make setup a simple matter of unfold, extend and secure, so your tent and the integrated rainfly are ready in about 60 seconds. If it rains, the WeatherTec™ system with its patented welded floors and inverted seams will help you stay dry. We were fortunate enough to have amazing, dry weather so we didn’t get to test it out in the rain. This tent features WeatherTec System which is supposed to keep you dry and there is no need for a rain fly.

Adventure is moments away when you set up the lightweight Coleman® Flatiron™ 3-Person Instant Dome Tent. Pre-attached poles make setup a simple matter of unfold, extend and secure, so your tent and the integrated rainfly are ready in about 60 seconds. We believe in offering the very best value, quality, and selection.

The ground vent allows increased ventilation perfect for those hot and humid days. For intense rain, the included rainfly offers extra protection to keep your shelter and essentials dry. This spacious cabin tent can fit up to two queen-size airbeds that’s perfect for a group trip or for a spacious endeavor into the wild on your own. If you’d prefer to pitch your tent in a matter of seconds rather than minutes, the 6 has you covered. At only $146.99, it’s one of the cheaper 6-person camping tents on the market, and it delivers a foolproof approach to tent-pitching that can easily be accomplished by one person, perhaps even one-handed. For those cloudless summer nights, this could make for an attractive option for families in search of low-cost camping, however there are still several competitive options out there at similar price points.
