Review: Coleman 5-Person Instant Dome Tent

For ventilation, I looked at how much mesh the Coleman 10-Person Instant Cabin Tent has. Also, it’s not completely opaque, and you can actually see quite a bit through it. The divider has a zip in the middle so that you can access either room, and you can also pull back the sides of the divider for easier access. Each window comes coleman instant tent with a small latch to tie the fabric of the windows up, so that it looks neater. I’m about 5’3″ (63 inches) tall, so I could stand up almost everywhere inside this Coleman Cabin Tent, except for the 4 corners. Finally, insert the green-colored fiberglass pole through the door pole sleeve (which can be zipped open and close).

After the roof poles, pull apart or extend the 6 telescoping wall poles as well. All the telescoping poles (both roof and wall poles) have silver lock buttons that click into place when fully extended. That being said, I think this is the absolute perfect tent for hot summer days. I was so comfortable inside this tent, and didn’t feel like I was baking (even at 12 noon, when the sun was scorching). 2) The poles came free of the center “hub” at the top of the tent and had to be forced into place several times. What’s odd is that the Instant Tent’s shortcomings in weather-resistance seemingly add to its quality in workmanship.

This Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent has a peak height of 73.5 inches, and I can reach the top of the tent very easily by just stretching my arm out. There are only two moderately-sized pockets in opposite corners. It’s nice to have a place to put the small things you carry around in your pockets all coleman camping chair day (car keys, phone, wallet, etc.), and the Instant Tent 6 can really only meet the needs of a few folks in that regard. This may not be a deal-breaker for many, but it’s worth noting. Sometimes it’s nice to be able to come in and out both ends of a tent, especially if you’re pushing the capacity.

Thanks to pre-attached telescoping poles, it setups up in as little as one minute, while keeping you and your gear dry with welded corners, inverted seams, and large awnings for the wide front and rear doors. It fits two queen-size airbeds, has mesh storage pockets for organizing gear, an E-port for running an extension cord inside, and an easy to use stuff-and-roll carry bag. Tested to withstand winds up to 35 mph, it’s designed for three-season use. Coleman isn’t mincing words when they call this an instant tent. The advertised setup time is a blistering 60 seconds, and we found that this was not an exaggeration—even if you start the clock with the tent still inside its travel bag.

This meant we could have playtime inside the tent when it rained or the mosquitoes came out. I’m very impressed with how quick and easy it is to put up such a large tent. Once the Coleman Instant Up Tent is out of it’s carry bag, coleman instant tent it takes two minutes to fold out and pop up. Meaning the frame and inner tent is fully assembled in less than three minutes! However, it does take another ten minutes (or so) to pull the fly over the frame and peg it all down.
