Most experienced riders know their preference, but if you’re new to the sport it can be difficult to know which choice to make. Choosing the right level bike for your riding ability is important.

Youth freestyle bikes are sized depending on the diameter of the wheel staring at 12” all the way through to 18”, at a 20” wheel the bike is considered an adult size. At first glance the Mongoose Title Elite is a nice looking bike out of the box. Some of the key features include; BB86 bottom bracket shell, tapered headtube, lightweight 6061 butted alloy frame, 4130 cromo forks and bars, 24mm 2 piece mongoose racing bike alloy cranks. Whether you need a well priced bike to get you on the track with the kids or you are looking for something that you can upgrade as budget allows the Mongoose Title Elite is definitely worth a look. As soon as these hit the ground there were proud owners upgrading their parts to build some very impressive bikes. I’m surprised we didn’t see more of it here in Australia to be honest.

The Mongoose Title Elite is an affordable mid range complete bike based around a frame that’s capable of mixing it with the big dogs among the elite on the RedBull Pump Track and UCI World Cup circuits. The Mongoose Title Elite mongoose dirt bike complete bike has been around for a while but we’ve finally been able to get our hands on one thanks to the Aussie distributors PSI Cycling. When the Title Elite hit the market it caused quite a stir, and it’s easy to see why.

These bikes are strong enough for smooth landings on race and pump tracks but will not take the abuse that a freestyle bike would in concrete skateparks. If you’re looking to set fast lap times or begin your competitive career on the track, a race bike is the right choice. Freestyle bikes are designed for the skatepark, the streets or the trails. They are constructed from strong, hard wearing materials and usually feature Steel or Chromoly frames.

Components that are not suitable for your level of riding can wear or fail much sooner than expected. Although BMX bikes can look very similar, under the surface components and materials used can vary greatly. Born out of a garage in SoCal back in 1974, Mongoose is synonymous with BMX.

Since Mongoose only offered these bikes in the continental USA they have been working hard to find a way for people in Canada, Alaska/Hawaii, Mexico, UK, ect, to get their hands on them and that’s where we come in. Obviously, the cost to ship to these states/countries isn’t cheap, but these bikes are affordably priced even with the cost to ship to these locations. Although this may seem like a brilliant feature, it does come at a price! Freecoaster hubs feature a “Slack” before engagement while pedalling forward.

The Pro XXL frame was the right length for me but there was a significant difference in the handlebar, stem and crank sizes compared to what I use.
