Ozark Trail 20′ x 10′ Instant Cabin Tent in Gray and Teal, Sleeps 12 Monday Shop

While I paid between $250 to $350 for both my 10-Person Coleman Tents, I paid only about $100 for the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent, which is less than half the price of my Coleman tents. This is also a 3-room structure and the rooms are depicted in the picture above. This is a very typical cabin-style tent with very tall and straight walls, the peak height is 76 inches (193 cm). The easiest models to pitch are pretty much always “instant tent” shelters, which use a system of preattached poles than only need to be unfolded and locked into place. Ease of setup (how easy it is to pitch and take down a tent) is pretty much always a high mark for Ozark Trail tents.

It is fully floored and its side walls are all double-layer with mesh and zippered panels. So it offers full protection just like the back room, but it can be converted to a pleasant screen room as well. I didn’t pay much for this tent (just slightly over $100), and I don’t think there’s any other brand apart from Ozark Trail that you can buy a 10-person tent for this price. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent can accommodate 10 single sleeping pads or sleeping bags, and here’s what having 10 pads in this 10-person tent looks like.

I have seen people asking if any of those vents can be used to fit an air conditioner, and the answer is no. Regarding seasons & climate, this is a summer camping tent for places without rain and strong winds. The waterproof rating is minimal, the fly covers only the ceiling, the tent is very tall and as such a huge obstacle for winds and it would not last long in a very windy place.

It also features a large gear organizer and electrical cord access to fully accommodate you and the whole crew. This instant tent with screen room comfortably fits two queen airbeds or up to nine campers in sleeping bags on the floor. The Ozark Trail 12-Person Instant Cabin Tent sets up in under two minutes so you can spend more time camping and less time setting up. This 12-person instant tent requires no assembly because the poles are pre-attached to the tent . Enjoy the panoramic views with the extra-large windows and shade porch.

Even in light rain, the rain does get on to the window and door mesh, so it’s best to keep them full closed. I also rain tested my Coleman Sundome Tents, and I have the regular 6-person version, the 6-Person Dark Room version, and also ozark trail instant cabin the Elite 6-Person version. All these tents were able to stay dry for about 30 to 35 minutes of heavy pouring rain. So all in all, the screen room is a regular room, it just offers more features with its huge mesh on the three sizes.

But the area is 140 ft² (13 m²) so this is far too small for such a number of users although indeed it should be possible to put 10 sleeping pads on the floor. Note again that the tent is fully floored, so this can work for a group of friends at a summer festival and for other similar activities. But for a family camping, it is best to downgrade this number by half.

The picture below shows the tent without the fly so you can get some idea about its poles structure. The pictures above also show how you can completely close the windows and the doors, for privacy and for protection from elements. Note that you have 10 windows in total and they can be closed as you wish.

These 4 mattresses take up the entire tent, and there’s hardly any space leftover for camping gear. To accommodate 10 people in this tent, it’s almost shoulder-to-shoulder sleeping, although there’s some space down the middle for just a tiny bit of camping gear. As stated above, durability and materials are the main pain point of Ozark Trail tents. The fabrics are often thinner and less technical (regular polyester rather than ripstop, etc.), and the poles are pretty much always made from cost-saving materials like fiberglass and thin steel alloy. Large dome tents are also an option, and although they’re a little less flashy, they have some perks of their own.

As for my Coleman Tents, the stitching is generally not too bad, there were less loose threads, and the holes in the stitching were smaller. And also, there was this sort of inconsistent mesh in 2 places around the tent. So as you realize, the ground shape is quite interesting and you can realize this also from the pictures below, without and with ozark trail shower tent the two dividers.
