Depending on which model you go with, you will find the appearance of these ice chests to differ quite a bit. The most affordable models, the non-premium soft-sided coolers, come in a very safe, solid color. There may be some subtle grays or white pieces of fabric but, for the most part, the primary ozark trail cooler color will dominate. And while we are on the subject of the premium soft-sided coolers, there are a few additional features specific to them. They include built-in bottle openers, daisy chain attachment points, compression strap, thicker insulation, and a wash-friendly 600D outer coating.
As soon as we realized the Ozark Trail was not going to work I got online and ordered an RTIC. RTIC Coolers can only be purchased from their website, which is why they say their price point is much lower ozark trail canopy than YETI. I made this purchase nine weeks prior to our vacation and the cooler is scheduled to arrive only days before we leave. That’s a little closer than I’d like but we need a better cooler.
The Ozark Trail soft coolers feature a leak proof zipper that is 100% water tight. It won’t let water in or out so you don’t have to worry about water spilling if you knock your cooler over or water splashing out and wetting your car seat. To me this just says the Ozark Trail soft coolers are hit and miss. Overall the quality is poor but there is a chance you may get a good cooler that lasts you years. But there’s also a solid chance that your cooler might break within the first few weeks or first few months.
But most of these coolers are not equal to a YETI cooler in terms of quality and features. They are also commonly known for supplying soft/hard-sided high-performance cooler, and drink-ware. No, they are different brands and, therefore, different products.
This allows you to carry the cooler around while keeping your arms free. There is a great video where a customer who owns both a Yeti Hopper and an Ozark Trail does as ice test on them and compares the performance ozark trail canopy side by side. Even compared to RTIC, which is the cheapest of the well known brands, Ozark Trail are still a fair bit cheaper. If you are picky about colors, then you should go with the YETI coolers.
As expected, the performance in this department is above average – this is, after all, a Yeti product. While it’s not as good as Yeti Tundra in this department, the Ozark Trail cooler undoubtedly offers a performance that is very impressive once we take its price into account. I think it’s pretty safe to say that this Ozark Trail cooler is a great choice if you’re looking for a cheaper cooler. I was also impressed by how much ice this premium cooler can hold.
