Ozark Trail 12 Person Instant Cabin Tent with Integrated LED Lights, 3 Rooms, 47 87 lbs

The picture below shows the tent without the fly so you can get some idea about its poles structure. The pictures above also show how you can completely close the windows and the doors, for privacy and for protection from elements. Note that you have 10 windows in total and they can be closed as you wish.

This Ozark Trail 10-Person Dark Rest Instant Cabin Tent will help you have a fulfilling camping trip by accommodating the whole crew and making everyone feel comfortable. It sets up in just 60 seconds and requires no assembly, because the poles are pre-attached to the tent, so all you have to do is just unfold and extend. This outdoor cabin tent features innovative Dark Rest technology that blocks sunlight, helping you stay cooler and sleep longer. Multiple skylights with interior ceiling panels allow you to customize the light and can be rolled back for stargazing or for extra interior illumination.

For pros, the Ozark Trail 10-Person Cabin Tent is very, very inexpensive, and is by far my least expensive tent for the size. The 14 steel stakes that came with the tent are just your standard tent stakes, nothing impressive. The mesh doesn’t exactly feel soft and silky, and I’m pretty sure it’s not no-see-um mesh, though it’ll keep the bigger bugs out. There was quite a bit of this sort of inconsistent mesh in some places, so not very well put together. I also found a bunch of loose threads on the floor when I first got into the tent, and excess material on some parts. Also, I noticed that some water was already seeping through the blue fabric at the bottom of the tent, and the fabric is pretty much soaked.

Even in light rain, the rain does get on to the window and door mesh, so it’s best to keep them full closed. I also rain tested my Coleman Sundome Tents, and I have the regular 6-person version, the 6-Person Dark Room version, and also ozark trail canopy tent the Elite 6-Person version. All these tents were able to stay dry for about 30 to 35 minutes of heavy pouring rain. So all in all, the screen room is a regular room, it just offers more features with its huge mesh on the three sizes.

As for my Coleman Tents, the stitching is generally not too bad, there were less loose threads, and the holes in the stitching were smaller. And also, there was this sort of inconsistent mesh in 2 places around the tent. So as you realize, the ground shape is quite interesting and you can realize this also from the pictures below, without and with the two dividers. Keep in mind that we may receive commissions when you click our links and make purchases. We try our best to keep things fair and balanced, in order to help you make the best choice for you. For all the reasons mentioned above, we’ve found that the Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin is the best Ozark Trail tent overall.

I also noticed that the fabric of most of my Coleman Tents tend to stay dry in light to moderate rain, and would only start getting wet after 45 minutes to 1 hour of super heavy rainfall. As for my Ozark Trail 10-Person ozark trail instant cabin Tent, it was able to stay dry only for about 10 minutes of mostly light rain and some moderate rainfall, not even heavy rain. One of its great features is the front screen room which you can see in the picture below.

There’s a lot to love here, but as the Ozark Trail Three Room Instant Cabin is still a budget department store tent, you’ll want to be aware of a few shortcomings. First, although this is an instant tent, the unique layout and integrated awning make setup a little more involved than most. Second, the tall vertical walls and “L” shape make it about as far from aerodynamic as they come. Do NOT phone in the guyline portion of set-up (regardless of the weather) or you’ll risk damaging the tent. Finally, the material of this shelter is noticeably higher quality than many Ozark Trail tents, but the 68D polyester is still not as thick as we’d like. No Ozark Trail tent is perfect, but as far as full-size family camping tents go, this is the one to beat.

This is a tall and boxy structure so it is best to use it in a quiet area. But I have seen some users reporting of using it in the winds of 50 mph. This is a freestanding construction, self-supporting and stable as you can realize from the picture below which shows the tent without the fly. But you should certainly not miss staking it properly, the stakes and guylines are included in the package. If you’re expecting no rain at all, this is a great, reasonably-priced tent.
