Ozark Trail Outdoor Equipment & Camping Gear

A full rain fly with easy-attach color-coded clips covers the tent body and adds two large vestibules. Like the Mineral King 3, the Tungsten has aluminum poles that are connected at the top (for lightning-quick pitching) and pre-bent, which increases the dome tent’s headroom. You can also set up the tent without the fly while retaining some privacy, since the tent body has a high polyester wall on one side. Make your ozark trail cooler tailgate, campout, or backyard party even more enjoyable with the Ozark Trail 10′ x 10′ Instant Straight Leg Canopy. Made of a durable polyester construction, this canopy tent provides 100 square feet of cooling shade anywhere and the easy push-button system offers safe setup and takedown. It features built-in vents on the top for added ventilation and offers you 50+ UV protection from the hot sun all day long.

The lifespan of an Ozark Trail Canopy will depend on factors such as frequency of use, storage conditions, and maintenance practices. Regularly inspecting the fabric, frame, and hardware for damage or wear will also help prolong the life of your canopy. The three leg height adjustments allow you to adjust the shade as the sun moves, while the additional UV protection keeps you safe from harmful radiation. For maximum airflow, simply open the two included adjustable canopy vents.

One downside I encountered was the water pooling on the sides of the cover, but a quick fix using pool noodles from the dollar store took care of this issue. However, the overall quality and sturdiness of the canopy impressed me greatly. It’s perfect for camping, tailgating, craft fairs, and many other outdoor activities. Whether I’m hosting a barbecue or just lounging by the pool, I can adjust the height to suit my needs and preferences.

The canopy folds down to 52.5″ in length and easily fits into the roller bag with all of the accessories. If you can afford to spend more on a family tent, we recommend The North Face Wawona 6. Everyone who tested this tent loved it, and it’s not hard to understand why. With plenty of interior space, near-vertical walls, and a gigantic vestibule that could accommodate a golf cart, the Wawona feels more like a tiny home than a tent. One night during testing, for example, clouds loomed in the distance with clear skies overhead. After we pitched the tent, the Mineral King 3’s adaptable fly let us leave half the mesh dome uncovered.

I used plain water which I boiled to temperature and placed inside each of the Tumblers and immediately closed with the provided lids. With a price point below $10, you are able to get 4 of the 32oz Ozark Trail Tumblers for a price that is comparable to 1 of the competitions 30oz tumblers, which to me is a huge win. An avid swimmer, surfer, hiker, and camper, she currently lives on the island of Oahu in Hawaii, where she can be found, as much as possible, in water. We found that company representatives are reluctant to estimate the lifespan of their tents. When pushed, most of the reps we talked to estimated five to 10 years, though the actual lifespan will vary widely depending on care and frequency of use (for more advice, read REI’s excellent tips).

It features rubber latches which I am a huge fan of for boating applications. When you are out on the water, people often sneak over to grab something from the cooler and may not latch it back up. With a hard plastic latch, you run the risk of brushing by the cooler and hitting your shin, which I have done and is awful. One of my favorite features though is the rubber wheels vs. the hard plastic wheels on the Pelican and Yeti. Not only will the rubber allow for a slightly smoother roll when you are pull this cooler along, but it will also be quieter. Rounding out the exterior is a lid that features 4 cup holders and inch notches for measuring your catch of the day.

The tent doors are nearly wall-sized, and after you unzip them, you simply stuff them into pockets, rather than having to roll and toggle-tie the fabric. Another two hanging pockets plus loops for a ceiling hammock provide simple yet effective interior storage. I’ve been using the Ozark Trail Canopy, and I must say it’s been a game-changer for my outdoor activities. The setup is a breeze — it took me just a few minutes to assemble, and the slanted leg design provides a sturdy and secure structure.

Coleman makes no dedicated footprints for its tents—the idea being that the polyethylene is tough enough not to need one. (Still, we suggest that you buy a groundsheet.) The tent has two small, internal pockets—fewer than on any of our other picks—and a loop at the ozark trail cooler ceiling center to hang a small, lightweight light. The tent weighs just 16 pounds, less than any other family tent we tested for this guide. The biggest material difference between the Sundome and our other picks is its crunchy, tarp-like polyethylene floor.
