Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Vacuum Sale December 2023

I got just over 18 minutes, but others boast up to 30 minutes of battery life, depending on how taxing the vacuuming is. However, because this handheld vacuum is better for spot cleaning, you probably won’t be using it for the entire length of its bissell vacuum cleaner battery life in one sitting. I cleaned the bottom of my cat tree in less than a minute, even switching between attachments. The litter mat was the trickiest to clean because it’s designed to trap litter, and that only took about five minutes.

For full access, you’ll need a screwdriver so you can remove the bottom plate entirely, which you’ll need to do for full brush cleaning or to detangle hair. Like other bagless vacuums, the Bissell collects debris into a dustbin, which empties easily via a gray latch near the bin’s bottom. At times I found the bin difficult to close and often pressed it down onto the countertop to ensure that the latch caught. It was certainly more of a hassle to empty than the bin on the DC40 Origin, which empties seamlessly, and closing the bin required me to come in contact with some of the collected debris. I wish it had a mechanism like the Oreck’s bin, which opens and closes via the same lever, requiring no contact with dirt or dust. Without attachments, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser is still a dependable vacuum.

The reason is that they scatter debris, which is the opposite of what you want when you’re vacuuming. In some regards, at least, hard floors proved to be a challenge for nearly all of the vacuums we tested. The Bissell was not exempt from this, and yet it performed well in surprising ways. Bissell recommends disabling the rollerbrush for hard-floor vacuuming.

On hard floors, the Bissell collected 83 percent of the Cheerios, 99 percent of the sand/sawdust mixture, and a negligible amount of pet hair. The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo and BISSELL CrossWave Pet Pro are for different uses. The Pet Hair Eraser is a traditional upright with a larger dirt compartment, better maneuverability, and superior performance on carpeted surfaces. You can also use it in a semi-handheld configuration to clean hard-to-reach areas. Meanwhile, the CrossWave is a hybrid vacuum mop that can clean stains with ease and is capable of dealing with liquid spills. This test series was actually the most successful tests that the Pet Hair Erasercompleted.

It slightly struggles to pick up small debris like baking soda and there’s even some residue left behind within the connector between the wand and hose. However, it’s still able to pick up most small and large debris even as the dirt compartment fills. If you want an upright vacuum that’s even better on low-pile carpet, check out the Shark Rotator Powered Lift-Away. The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus is a satisfactory option for cleaning pet hair. It can easily pick up pet hair on carpet, although it struggles a bit more on bare floors.

The BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo doesn’t have any automation features. There are a lot of pieces you need to remove to access different parts of the vacuum. There  are a few variants of the BISSELL Pet Hair Eraser Turbo, though they differ mainly in terms of included attachments. Given the price, I do believe the vacuum should perform a bit better in certain areas. Bear in mind, these costs are based on Bissell’s recommendation of replacing the filter every three months.

Some parts such as the brushroll are difficult to remove, and it has frequent recurring costs. However, it has good maneuverability around electrical cords, and you can even configure the vacuum to reach under tables or couches. The device also converts into a handheld vacuum and comes with attachments to target specific messes.

It also has a 27-foot cord that provides plenty of reach as you clean. There’s also a suction blockage indicator which we haven’t seen before but really like. It’s one of the more useful features that could be included on an upright vacuum. When you see the bissell vacuum cleaner indicator change color from green to red, you can clean the filters or clear the blockage. Where suction is concerned, one small feature that is a big deal is the small squeegee that Bissell added on the bottom of the vacuum, just after the brushroll.

The dirt compartment and turbo brush both feel like they could crack if dropped, which is a little disappointing. However, while there are a lot of pieces to assemble, everything fits well together, although the dirt compartment can be a little tricky to put back in place. At 3′ away, the Bissell Pet Hair Erasier upright vacuum emits 81 dB of sound. Some users who do not use the vacuum as much may be able to get away with changing the filter every 4-6 months, which means annual costs could range from $39-$45.

It requires ongoing maintenance and the recurring costs can also add up, depending on your usage. The following vacuum cleaner tests are designed to show how the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser upright vacuum performs on different surfaces, picking up a variety of debris types. Because many of Bissell’s vacuums do so many things well, this is one of those dual “best” categories. The Bissell SpinWave R5 Robotic Mop & Vacuum is our choice for the best Bissell robot vacuum, but also our choice for the best Bissell vacuum for hardwood floors. It vacuums and mops at the same time, using an edge brush to pick up debris against baseboards.
