There are two drawbacks to this handheld vacuum, in my opinion. First off, it’s a little pricey (again, I waited for a Black Friday sale … not that it’s THAT expensive, but I’m chronically cheap). And second, I wish the end would swivel or adjust over surfaces. Not all of Shark’s handheld vacuums could make it onto our list, but here is a couple that were close contenders. Depending on your circumstances, they could still be the right vacuum for you.

It easily picks up dust, cereal, and other common household messes. Its pivoting dust brush and crevice tool make getting into corners and nooks simple. The Wyze Handheld Vacuum is better than the Shark WANDVAC.

It isn’t much help under strong indoor lighting or sunlight, but it’s still a nice, unique feature that we found helpful as we cleaned. The readout on the back of the vacuum, which lists the ratio of dirt collected by particle size was also interesting. It’s tiny and won’t hold a lot of debris before needing to be emptied. On the plus side, it’s made of clear plastic, so you can see when it’s full, and you can push a button under the handle to release the cover and empty it.

Lacks the strong suction power of more expensive Shark models. Shark’s unique brushroll design easily sucks up pet hair (and human hair) without it becoming wrapped around the brush. Customers praise the slim design and its ability to fit into small spaces. We love that despite the smaller size, it was just as powerful as other hand vacs on the market. Runs for an hour on a single charge, making it the perfect companion for whole-room clean-ups.
