Schwinn EC1 electric bicycle review: a fun and comfortable e-cruiser!

And the build quality feels like it should stand the test of time. Speaking of which, check out my video below to see the bike’s performance and features in action, including those cool frame lights. Select Schwinn e-bikes include a headlight and taillight to help you see and be seen during low-light rides. The Coston and Marshall e-bikes also have lights along the battery for additional visibility and a sleek, modern look. Headlights, taillights, and integrated frame lights help you see and be seen in low-light conditions. Throw a better battery and a better controller on it, and I bet you can get a whole lot more than 250W out of the motor as well.

Class 2 e-bikes are required to stop assistance past 20 miles per hour. Level 1 throttle tops out at around 10 mph while level 5 will give you the full 20 mph. I mostly used the motor in pedal-assist schwinn dealers mode, though I will cover the throttle in the next section. The motor on this bike is very aggressive in that is starts up quickly with even the slightest movement of the pedal, and it goes hard.

A commuter ready electric bike with upright handlebar, adjustable suspension seat post, and comfortable plus sized tires. It comes with sturdy aluminum alloy fenders, a rear rack, and integrated lights.. In addition to the front and rear lights, there are two highly visible light bars…… Even though this electric bike offers 24 speeds (and thus has grip shifters on the left and right handle bars) the cockpit is relatively clean.

This is a definite con as your keys can jingle around when riding making them and the bike frame more vulnerable to damage and scratches. It works by spinning the back wheel, creating the feeling of being pushed. A mid-drive motor powers schwinn dealers the bike’s drivetrain instead of the wheel hub. This style creates a natural sensation that one would typically feel while riding a bike. Most Schwinn e-bikes feature a hub drive motor because it requires little to no maintenance.

We’ll get into the range in a moment, but the rest of the bike is fairly standard fare for any bike. You get a 7-speed gear system on the rear wheel with a single gear on the front. The shifter is on the right handlebar opposite the LED display for the motor on the left. As a commuter e-bike, I’m also glad to see some good schwinn dealers commuter specific parts, like the included fenders and the excellent lighting. Not only do you get typical head and taillights, but you also have LED frame lights built into the sides of the battery. That adds a nice nighttime glow to the bike to give you better side visibility – an area where most bikes are lacking.
