The XPeak takes the form of a typical adventure-style fat tire electric bike. I will never need the performance that they offer, so thankfully, they make cranks for fanbois. The SRD came with the classic Acto5 mountain cranks, nice and short in 165—because this bike has all the gears—and long cranks are for flat-earthers. I was wondering if this company offers veterans different pricing..? I am really in love with this bike and will most likely end up buying this over a vehicle just because it is easier for me at the moment. The speed will vary from mph depending on which country you buy the bike in, but the performance is only part of the equation. The quick folding and light, compact design of the e-bike is the real winner here.
Looking at buying a $600 mech, I love the idea that individual parts of the mech can be replaced if they get damaged, that it will run with almost any shifter, and that I can swap the cage out to run short or long so it can be used on more or less any bike. The shifting itself is nothing to write home about, but it works well every time. You can drop half a cassette at once or make single shifts with the expected precision, and it works, but not as nicely as SRAM electronic shifting. I have never NEEDED anything to work as nicely as SRAM electronic shifting in horrible conditions. Modern geometry tailored for aggressive riding lets the Firebird rail at warp speed with battleship stability and laser precision.
The e-bike isn’t just powerful or surprisingly comfortable for an off-road, it’s also quite safe. The punchy hydraulic disc brakes offer quick and controlled stops while the UL-certified battery and e-bike systems offer safe operations, removing the worry of dangerous thermal events. The bike uses a step-through moped style frame to create a short utility bike or mini cargo e-bike.
Gravel became road cycling for mountain bikers and, at the same time, the gateway drug to mountain biking for road cyclists.
