I started the test first thing when I got to the office and was waiting for hours on end. By the time I left the office about eight hours later, the ice still wasn’t entirely melted and the water levels in both tumblers seemed to be at the same level. Putting them side by side, the Yeti and Ozark Trails tumblers look exactly alike. They’re the same size and shape, are made of stainless steel, and have similar sip tops. The only real physical differences are that Yeti has a slider on the lid and they have different logos adorning the cups (obviously).
They aren’t necessarily meant to be multi-day cups, so I think they ozark trail canopy all performed really well. On the other hand, the Ozark Trail tumbler is made of high-grade, double-walled stainless steel and is vacuum-sealed—so pretty much the same as the Yeti. The water in the Yeti tumbler did cool down slightly slower than the Ozark Trail one, but not enough to cause a significant difference in experience between the two. After extensively reviewing the data from the travel logger, we found that—drumroll, please—the two tumblers performed exactly the same. I’ll pause for shock value, but there’s no real difference between the two other than the price tag and that the Yeti is dishwasher safe. Then I did the same test with cold water from the same coolers.
To take this a step further, you may encounter a noticeable change in flavor as your coffee’s temperature reduces. The less expensive Ozark Trail Tumbler was declared the winner of my very casual unscientific YETI vs. Ozark Trail Tumbler challenge! And they both really did seem pretty similar in performance and are both fantastic tumblers to consider. Tumblers, one from YETI and one from Ozark Trail, to test if there’s a difference that would make me want to spend 4x as much money for the YETI. We seem to have a growing supply of tumblers at home and I often wonder if there’s a difference between the higher-end brands like YETI and Walmart’s more affordable brand Ozark Trail.
Ozark Trail tumblers are not dishwasher safe thus you will have to clean it the traditional way which is by hand washing. Yeti Tumbler – We can all agree that nothing beats a cup of hot coffee in the morning. But there are things that can come in the way that may prevent us from sipping that warm beverage, like an urgent staff meeting. During those instances, you’d really want to have a tumbler that can keep your coffee for a long time.
The 22oz Ozark Trail Tumbler is what most people think of when they are envisioning a coffee tumbler. The size is well suited for any coffee drinkers hand and it holds just the right amount of coffee to keep you from going over board and maxing out on your caffeine intake for the day in one sitting. This tumbler is the perfect size for any cup holder and has a sleek design. One difference I noticed is that the YETI brand specifically states dishwasher safe and Ozark Trail says to NOT place in the dishwasher. However, we have personally washed the Ozark brand water bottles and tumblers in the dishwasher at my house without issue for years.
There are a few key features that are really important to me and created a good benchmark of which brands to include. They had to be insulated for maximum chill factor (no one likes a warm drink), include a straw or a lid with room to add your own, fit in a cup holder, and be a large size. I did my best to keep the sizes comparable across brands, so each one has a capacity between 24 to 40 ounces. However, if you are simply looking to be able to tote your drink while keeping cold drinks cold and hot drinks hot, without using dangerous plastics, the Ozark Trail tumbler is the way to go. Neither the Ozark Trail nor the Yeti are designed to be leak proof, unlike insulated stainless steel water bottles.
