So you can imagine my surprise when I found my dream shade totally by happenstance—when testing Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Toast of New York for this review. With its rusty-red hue and warm undertones, this cult-favorite shade is casual enough for everyday wear yet pigmented enough for a wedding. It’s also perfectly creamy and doesn’t bleed. I wholly believe in the power of lipstick, and I bet you too can’t help but feel glamorous and empowered when you have your favorite shade on. A super versatile and common mineral powder that comes in different particle sizes. It is a multi-tasker used to improve skin feel, increase product slip, give the product light-reflecting properties, enhance skin adhesion revlon lipstick or serve as an anti-caking agent. Beautiful color, comfortable to wear and it longs more than 5 hours without touch up. A vegetable wax coming from the leaves of the Brazilian tropical palm tree, Copernicia cerifera.
It leaves you with an opaque, glossy finish while adding a subtle sheen to your lips. This would be an ideal color for fair skin tones. This video will give you revlon colorstay lipstick a better insight into the product. This shade and Revlon’s Black Cherry, are my go to vampy shades. It’s really buildable depending on how dark you want to go.
The good thing about this shade is that if you apply it lightly with one swipe, it provides a good wash of color that looks completely natural… But if you build it up, it’s true purplish-pink shade will come through. This shade will look great on all skin tones. This shade is a great dupe for MAC’s Up The Amp, but Up The Amp is definitely more cooler and bluer based. Regardless, this is shade is one of my Holy Grail Revlon products. Coming to the pigmentation, all the finishes from this range are incredibly pigmented.
Application is a bit tough as it tugs at my lips, but I was able to work around it. I’m not going to complain about it considering the cost of the lipstick. On me it turned a bit revlon colorstay lipstick more fuschia (as most reds do), but still retained most of the wine shade. Best applied with a lip brush and a liner wouldn’t hurt, but also looks great straight from the tube.
