Coleman Instant Up 4P Lighted Northstar Darkroom Tent

By opening the vents and the windows, there shouldn’t be any issue for condensation. When the windows are shut and the vents are closed, condensation may happen as some users reported. This tent shape is beneficial for people who likes to walk around in the tent without crouching or bending down. The tent has a lantern loop inside that you can use to hang your night lamps. It has two interior mesh pockets that I think is not enough especially when you have a lot of people staying. You may also want to better protect yourself from the rain by applying a waterproofing treatment to the fabric before bringing it out.

This instant set up design means that this tent can be pitched by one person. The most challenging part might be getting the additional rainfly over the peak height of the tent body. If you’ve coleman camping got your heart set on fall camping and are expecting storms, go ahead and grab yourself a tarp or two. The rainfly doesn’t hold up on its own with the Coleman 6 person instant tent cabin.

We’d love to see a back door added (especialy if it comes with a second vestibule in the future), but for now we’re more than happy to live with a single door at this price. There was heavy rainfall both nights we stayed in the tent, and we had no issues with leaks, nor warmth, since it is a fairly small tent. Equally, the first morning there was beautiful sunshine, and the tent didn’t overheat either. There are decent vents at the top of the tent, which I felt helped with making sure the tent didn’t get overheated. I have had tents previously, ones which were larger too, that have had little ventilation and felt extremely hot and uncomfortable waking up in once the sunrise had heated up the tent. We also never once batted an eye lid at the wind – the tent always felt sturdy and secure.

At only $146.99, it’s one of the cheaper 6-person camping tents on the market, and it delivers a foolproof approach to tent-pitching that can easily be accomplished by one person, perhaps even one-handed. For those cloudless summer nights, this could make for an attractive option for families in search of low-cost camping, however there are still several competitive options out there at similar price points. By combining a fully seam-taped rainfly with fabric shielded zippers, welded bathtub style floors, and inverted seams, the WeatherMaster is genuinely well protected from the rain. I wouldn’t consider this as an instant tent as it takes more time to set up. The poles are not pre-attached, you have to lay them one by one and attach them to the tent body.

The green side of the rainfly is the right side up, and the underside of the rainfly is black. Leaks in moderate to heavy rain and tent corners break easily. If someone could make them out of metal it would be a great tent. I like Coleman tents in general they offer a price to quality ratio that works. In my opinion this Instant Tent is overpriced, when compared to other Coleman tents of a similar size.

When you wake up, you can open all the window and door mesh panels, and get plenty of ventilation through all these massive mesh panels, so it doesn’t feel too stuffy in the tent during the day. For pros, I found the Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent much easier to set up than regular 10-person tent, taking anywhere between 30 to 90% less time. After about 3 hours of light rain, I noticed that no water seeped through the bathtub flooring, and it was still dry, which was great. I don’t think this Coleman 10-Person Instant Tent will do very well against strong winds. This is a cabin tent, so the shape isn’t aerodynamic at all. Also, I noticed a pretty big pool of water from the zipper of the hinged D-door at about 30 minutes of light rain (so maybe it started leaking at around 15 minutes in).
