Coleman RoadTrip 285 Grill Review

For the purpose of this review, we’ll be discussing gas grills exclusively, although we did review portable charcoal grills here. Well-designed portable gas grills coleman lantern will produce evenly-cooked food with a solid sear and grill marks. During our testing, we even found some could rival standalone models for versatility.

We cranked this grill to its highest setting and used an infrared thermometer to take temperature readings every five minutes for a period of twenty minutes. Between the 15-minute and 20-minute intervals, its temperature only coleman camping varied by five degrees, settling in at a maximum of 696°F. From our culinary experience, we know that the best temperatures for searing range from 300 to 500 degrees, depending on the cut of meat or vegetable of choice.

The Coleman storage bag is made of strong material and even has wheels. The legs on the base stand even have adjustable feet at the bottom to fine tune the stand to rock solid and level. The other benefit of this stand is that it allows the user to remove the grill from the included stand and use the grill on a tabletop or picnic table. After all this is a portable grill and placing the grill where you want is a big deal. Coleman has many different types of grills to boost your outdoor cooking to smoky perfection. If you’re planning on camping or tailgating, then a Coleman RoadTrip 285 Grill is just what you need.

The wheels make it easy to roll the Coleman grill from one spot to another either when folded or in its open position. My short height (5’2”) paired with the weight of the unit made it a bit difficult to load into the pickup truck but my 6’1” husband had no trouble. Two people could easily get the lift necessary to load into a higher truck bed.

It earned points for usability, with testers commenting on the ease of setup, propane tank attachment, and lighting. It’s also pleasantly easy to clean, thanks to foil inserts that can be used to line the removable drip tray. We settled on the RoadTrip® X-Cursion™ primarily for the reasons listed above but the price was also a factor. I highly recommend that you do your homework because we found that the price of grills varied significantly between brands and between different sites. Then came the discovery of the Coleman RoadTrip Classic LX Grill.

I also feel that compared to other portable grills, the Coleman RoadTrip LXE is far more capable of cooking for more than a few people. This is the closest you can get to have a full-size grill that can easily travel with you. This is by far one of the most capable portable grills on the market when it comes to what culinary wonders you can create with it.
