Ozark Trail Gray Camping Tents

The 3 roof poles are made of fiberglass, which are a bit more flexible. I wouldn’t recommend putting this 10-person tent up on your own though, because it’s quite difficult to get the roof to prop up by yourself. Sometimes I worry that these fiberglass poles will break, because they’re not that sturdy. To accommodate ozark trail canopy 10 people in this tent, it’s almost shoulder-to-shoulder sleeping, although there’s some space down the middle for just a tiny bit of camping gear. So as you realize, the word ‘instant’ is a bit misleading, but it is indeed an instant tent in the biggest part of it and the setup time is officially under 2 minutes.

The tent is open at the top with a weather rain fly that fits over the dome. The fly is so small it allows rain to blow up under and then runs into the tent. We, like some others, know that tents are NOT waterproof, so we sprayed the seams etc. with water replant. When we reached the beach everything went great, first night 30 mh winds. Next night still calm, took cover off and loved looking up at the night sky. My husband and I decided to head to the Texas coast for our 10yr old’s first camping trip.

I watersealed the seams, as per the instruction sheet inside the carrying bag but I have not been rained on yet. With that being said, there are a few things you’ll want to know going into your purchase. First, all Ozark Trail tents should be considered “fair-weather” shelters. That doesn’t mean they all leak when it rains or collapse when it’s windy, but they simply aren’t built for bad weather.

But the stitching in my Ozark Trail tent is not as great, there were loose threads all over the tent, and fairly big holes where the guylines are connected to the main tent body. In fact, one of these doors is even a hinged D-door, which makes going in and out of the tent that much easier. Alvantor has thrown in a PVC covering that you can pop on top to cover the mesh and keep your tent dry.

If you’re considering an Ozark Trail yourself, you’re in the right place. Rating and Summary The Core Straight Wall Cabin Tent is an incredibly spacious tent. Its 10-person version has an impressive peak height of 90 inches, and I couldn’t even reach the top of the tent!

We found out in the morning from a ranger who had came to check on us, that during the night the ridge we camped on took winds up to 65 mph during the night, and tent did not sustain any damage from the winds. Wind was now blowing at a constant 30mph and snow driving HARD. Lit the propane grill inside the tent and soon the tent was warm enough to take off our jackets. Put coats on, turned the grill to the lowest setting and went to sleep. Browse Ozark Trail’s top-rated hiking and camping gear and more.

I had a Coleman heater I used a time or two, but lost it in a move. Now using a propane bottle one burner stove and heater. If and when I buy a new tent, I will go with Ozark again, and will not buy it from walmart….if you watch a doc. Called “Walmart, the high cost of low prices” it will explain to you why the product there is so cheap. The ozark trail tent I purchased is model HKD 08055R. I have a design change suggestion but I do not see an email address anywhere; therefore I cannot submit it to someone who can do something about it.

And finally, the biggest con is probably that the quality isn’t the best with the slightly sticky tent fabric, loose threads, snagging issues and inconsistent mesh. The 6 wall poles are made of steel, I think, but they’re probably not stainless steel, because I found some rust on one of these steel poles. So after washing your ozark trail canopy tent and I also do rinse off the poles, do let them dry first before storing it away. The material of the tent body and rainfly are made of 68D coated polyester fabric. This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent can accommodate 10 single sleeping pads or sleeping bags, and here’s what having 10 pads in this 10-person tent looks like.
