Ozark Trail Tent Reviews

One summer we went camping and for three days in rained and rained. Plus we had plenty of room just to move around. To anyone who needs a good size tent that is leak proof, this is it. I have bought four tents of the Ozark Trail dome in the past 1 1/2 years. They leak all over even after I sprayed them with the sealer.

85 outside so this should not have happened. Let me just tell you this, it doesn’t make a difference what model your tent is. The main thing is is that the zippers that you put in these tents are so substandard that it doesn’t last more than one or two camping trips. You set a new low in tents and the damn zippers you put in them.

What are they plastic or made out of pewter. And before you guys cop an attitude, I have been camping since I was at least 4 years old and I am now in my mid-50s. These push locks get very difficult to use over time, especially if the tent is used on the beach and exposed to sand and saltwater, causing rust build up. With the push buttons you need to worry about pinching fingers or not being able to release the button when it gets rusted, which is never a pleasant experience. The Ozark Tail sun shade comes with side curtains to cover the mesh on the side.

I don’t see why you would spend more money on the more expensive sun shades, when the Ozark Trail did such a great job. We took it out of bag carrier it came in, and were able to get it assembled in about 5 minutes. The box says 30 seconds, which will be true every subsequent time we now set it up. A subreddit for campers concerned more about the act of camping and less concerned about hiking long distances or light gear.

We’ll be buying Coleman from here on out. I got soaked when it drizzled for a hour or so. I will be going with a Coleman on the next purchase. Trust me, it’s worth the money ozark trail screen house when you are soaking wet a long distance from your car. The design change I want to comment on concerns the little “laundry room” that protrudes out the back of the tent.

This Ozark Trail tent is, sorry to say this, a POS. Do not, DO NOT, spend your money on this. This piece of crap promises the buyer a lot for a lot of money, but what you get is something of lesser quality than if you bought a tent from the local Dollar store. The Ozark Trail tent I purchased is model HKD 08055R. I have a design change suggestion but I do not see an email address anywhere; therefore I cannot submit it to someone who can do something about it.

Trailspace’s community of gear reviewers has field-tested and rated the top tents and shelters. Only complaint was the zipper hangs on the front door flap, destroyed flap and zipper. My fiance and I spend a lot of time camping. Not sure what season our tents were but, we had to get 4 of them. Buy a couple of tarps…because you will need them. If and when I buy a new tent, I will go with Ozark again, and will not buy it from walmart….if you watch a doc.
