Ozark Trail Camping Tents for sale

We had 24 hours of rain in Delaware at the end of which there was a slight leak from the hoop for the lower dividing wall hook at the front resulting in a “puddle” the size of a quarter on the groundsheet. Was pleasantly surprised as I had read other reviews of Ozark Trail but as this was a disposable item (I live in the UK) I was trusting to fine summer weather. Shawna Newman is the editor-in-chief of Active Weekender, a website ozark trail canopy that provides resources — from gear recommendations to beginner tips — to people looking to plan outdoor adventures. Her favorite outdoor activity is hiking, and she is on a quest to visit every national park in the U.S. All the poles here are steel, so this is partly behind the mentioned weight of the tent. So when you extend them you will hear a click which will signal that the desired length of the pole is achieved.

Did they test the super GOBY DRY SYSTEM”??? If it’s the case, it was surely during sunny days. For the price, this tent served my wife and I well over several camping seasons in PA State Parks. I am now going with a four-season tent though as I’ll be traveling the ozark trail canopy country and who knows what weather I’ll run into. Took the tent back to Wal-Mart the next day and got a refund but it definitely ruined the weekend and some of us now have colds to fight off. I think the tents aren’t made with the quality of the older tents.

This tent has great features but the weight and packed size affect the overall rating. Like the 12 person tent, it also comes with a T-style door, so you can move camping gear and furniture without having to fangle it through a small, D-style door. There are many upsides to going camping— the fresh air, the sense of freedom, the disconnect from technology, just to name a few. That doesn’t have to be the case though, thanks to Ozark Trail. Its 20-person tent will make the whole sleeping-outdoors-thing more comfortable. Yes, we all want a big spacious tent with room for plush sleeping quarters, but we also recommend looking for the little features that can elevate your camping experience.

This Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent can accommodate 10 single sleeping pads or sleeping bags, and here’s what having 10 pads in this 10-person tent looks like. It took me about double the time to set it up on my own (so, 20 minutes). But unfortunately, because I’m not tall (I’m 5’3″), I couldn’t get the rainfly up on my own, and that’s where I got stuck. Because it’s ridiculously inexpensive, the quality, design and weather protection isn’t the best, though I think it’ll work decently in summer (without rain, of course). The tent is good for the money, however, i got it end of season last year and when we went camping this year, it had no rainfly/canopy. It does leak, the only way to stay perfectly dry is to drape your own tarp over the top under the rainfly to keep it in place.

I guess if you have kids that want to play in it, it would be fine. The first one I set up was in the fall (supposed to be a 3-season). It snowed a few inches and it completely caved in breaking all the shock-corded fiber glass poles.

With that being said, Ozark Trail does a good job of seam-sealing their tents from the factory in most cases, and with a little help, these budget-shelters can keep you dry when unexpected rain hits. Take time to treat the entire tent with a DWR coating like Nikwax (not just the rainfly) and never leave the house without a tent repair kit in case disaster strikes. Second, Ozark Trail tents are affordable because they use very basic materials.

The entire Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent takes about 10 minutes to set up, when my brother and I were setting it up together (2 people). The 2 green pole sleeves are for the longer diagonal poles (with 9 fiberglass segments), and the 1 blue pole sleeve is the for the shorter pole (with 5 fiberglass segments). For ease of use, I looked at how easily I could set up this Ozark Trail 10-Person Tent on my own, and with 2 people as well. After, I looked at how easily I could take down and pack up this tent. I love the tent’s size but has little leaks in the corners. The extra pockets that just out with a zipper are a nice addition.

Then after putting sealant on the sides and rain-fly with spray and seam seal stick it still leaked. Lastly after only five times using it the shock cord pole for the rain-fly broke (the cord snapped). I have bought four tents of the ozark trail tent Ozark Trail dome in the past 1 1/2 years. They leak all over even after I sprayed them with the sealer. I have exchanged two tents after the first use, even those leaked. It is a waste of good money to be throwing away on tents.

These are some of the best tents on the market, whether you and your fellow campers are seeking a cabin tent with one large space or a huge 20-person dome tent that has room dividers for extra privacy. In terms of drawbacks, this is a particularly budget-friendly model from an already budget-focused brand, so you’ll need to be mindful of a few shortcomings to get the most out of this shelter. First, Ozark Trail uses sealed seams on this tent, but the fabric itself isn’t made for a rainstorm. You’ll want to give the entire tent a thorough Nikwax treatment before taking it on the road.

The pole structure is very simple, there are only 8 guylines in total, and the stakes aren’t your super high-quality stakes. For weather resistance, I looked at rain and wind protection. There’s no dark room technology though, and it’s quite bright throughout the day. On top of that, there’s also no zip down the middle of the divider for easy access into either room. To get into the other room, you’d have to remove the divider and then put it back up.
